Hi
I guess I already know the answer to this question but doesnt hurt to post here I guess.
We have been with AOL for internet for 5 years, we went & stayed with them as most of our family were on it and it was great for instant messinger etc. However now, nobody really uses it and we are in a contract with AOL until Sept 2011, we pay £12 per month for broadband & free anytime calls. We would like to go with BT as then we will also get BT Openzone included which is great for our ipods.
I dont suppose there is anyway I can get out of it is there? probably not but worth a try.
Thanks guys:)
Sarah

Yes, you can 'get out of it', as in end your contract early, any time you like, but if so you will have to pay the early termination fee.
AOL to BT...frying pan to fire...No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Sarah,
Bear in mind as well tho that BT Openzone also allows others to use your connection...IIRC, you're Homehub creates a seperate 'hotspot' for other subscribers however it is on a different channel than your connectio.Remember reading BT rolled this out quitely..
I'm sure there is someone here that can explain it better....0 -

Why is this especially good for ipods?Move along, nothing to see.0 -
Hi thanks for replies. Think I will probably stay with aol till contract runs out and see what deals there are. Have to say in all 6 years we have been with aol we have only been without internet for 24 hours when they had major meltdown but other than that (touch wood) we have never had a problem.
The reason for BT Openzone is that we can connect to internet on ipod touch at certain places etc.
Thanks again.0 -

Yes. That was a relatively quet rollout, as my father in law found out. As it is, on his business broadband (works from home), is only a 1MB or 2MB connection, but when I was over there I noticed the Openzone hotspot as well. He had no idea!Signaller, author, father, carer.0
