Thank you for this thread. I have found it very useful. I had never thought of a group present for the whole family and I think the ideas on here will definitely make this Christmas a very special one in our house.
Thanks again0 -
Football tickets might be a good idea if you can get tickets for the blue planet thing.
They do kids for a quid schemes at most teams in the premier league for less high profile fixtures, I think. They certainly do at my beloved West Ham...although I don't know for how much longer if the takeover goes through0 -

You can buy a tree as a present. What a fantastic idea. You get a one year old seedling and grow it into a tree.
These guys are now selling the Blue Planet stuff including a water powered clock! Good one for those eco-friendly families.0 -
when i was little my mum bought teh family a karaoke machine that was great

my SIL and B gave the family tickets to the royal albert hall last year for a christmas carol concert. The tickets were pricey so it was their only present. They have decided to make this their yearly gift as they spend one year with us and one year with her family at XMas. It was a lovely experience and the entire family loved it.0

I bought my mum a session at a photographer's studio. Olan Mills I think. You get a lovely proffessional photo at the end of it and the option to buy more of them or different ones if you want to. But for the session and one print it was about £30. (I think they do packages that include hair and make up too for a few extra quid) Something all of the family can sit in on pets and beloved teddy bears too. Also it's a nice fun thing to do all together. You could also pay for lunch afterwards if you are feeling generous.

I played a fantastic game on the playstation 2 at a friends house over the weekend. Buzz Music quiz. It's not like other games console games and is definitely one for the whole family. well, a family of 4.
You get buzzers each and you are part of a game show. It really is brilliant fun and you don;t have to be a games whizz on it so anyone can play.
Could be one to keep everyone together as a family on Christmas day.0
