you might be right - although on-line is usually better deal than store - but quote from post#1

They probably have little wriggle room over tariff changes, but weigh up the following . If you go for the 24 month deal - and I hate any contracts over 12 months and go sim-only myself - then if they give you the extra £100 off the phone, then that is equivalent of 3 of the extra 6 months free of line rental.
Also, they probably won't want to lose the sale, so they may even give you some more cash off.0
