massive problems with a plumber and now his bill!

Did you find and pay for the suite or did he? If the plumber provided it, definitely check it's legitimate, seems awfully steep! As for the things he's damaged - why are you spending your money to replace/fix the problems? Surely he should sort it out, especially the bath panel, or expect his pay to be reduced?
3 months for a 2 day job is insane, and I can understand how invasive it must have been for you both! It's all very well people saying 'buy cheap buy twice' and all that, but I'm sure you thought you'd be paying 'mates rates' and not for a shoddy job!Paying off CC in 2011 £2100/£1692
