    Pay cheap and pay twice.

another lesson in getting a written quote before the work starts!!
I think it's going to be very difficult for the op to do anything here, when the plumber was "fobbing off" the question of cost that should have been alarm bells! if no price was agreed then it's pretty impossible to say you're not paying... although i wouldn't hand over cash until the guy has finished to your satisfaction, offer to pay in full if he completes it with all the issues addressed or say you'll deduct the cost of someone else fixing it off his final bill...

Hi evry 1,im new and dont know if i'm in the right section, pls help

im currently doing a full renovation and my plumber was fitting a new shower,in order to take the cover off you have to take 3 screws out which i think he didn't do resulting in the shower cover clips to break and a little clip from the main shower to break.

he saying that he's not to blame as other people have been workin in the house etc,so cut the story short i need help if anybody knows where i can buy a full damaged shower unit for parts or where can i order some parts cheap and from a reliable company.

SHOWER NAME:mira orbis latest model and parts no i require is

    1647.103 inlet valve
    1647.104 main cover(white)

any help will be much appreciated, thanks Ash.

Firstly I'd post a new thread rather than posting at the end of someone elses.

Sounds unlikely that a plumber would cockup taking a shower unit apart as I suspect its something they do frequently, possible though. Anyway have you asked him whether he can get replacement bits or checked with your local Mira stockist? Failing that try ebay?

    OP,

I would be very sceptical of the bathroom suite price for a start, you can get a fabulous suite for less than half the price he is charging you, ask him what make of suite it is and ring a few plumbers merchants and check their prices for the same thing.

Since he clearly doesn't have a clue what he is doing he can't expect to get paid top tradesmans hourly rates, work on hours worked at £10 per hour.

Any expenses he caused you, deduct from his bill.

    Don't be intimidated £1900 is b*llsh*t
