Hi all
Have always been a PC man. Live them, breathe them. But more recently have been slowly assimilated into the Steve Jobs collective. I now have 2 iphones & an iPad.
I'm now oggling iMac's but really struggling to justify the cost. Worse still, I'd need dual monitor setup to replicate what i currently have.
They look so gorgeous. But aside from looks, what would I want one for???
Any mac converts help me justify it????

It's just looks and more money than sense, but then I'm not a mac convert and never will be....:)

Find the PC specs you want, Look at the price, Then add 50% of the price, change the case to technika Tesco White and booyaa you have a Mac.
PS I am not talking about OSX or Windows cause we know which is better.
Survey earnings total 2009 £417, 2010 £875, 2011 £5740 -
personally dont see the need, at least not to justify the cost, but this is me personally since i have all my needs covered with windows for gaming and Ubuntu for everything else. and if i need a pretty system (case) i can build and mod my ownDrop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -
i hear you guys.....but i just want one! It was like the iPhone 4. I wanted one but couldn't think of any reasons to get one! Damn Apple & their marketing!0

I suppose it's like anything else that you don't actually need to live... if you want it and you can afford it then get one. They are overpriced, and personally I wouldn't buy a Mac desktop, but I do love my Macbook. I wouldn't want to get any other laptop now.0

I got one years ago but switched back to pc as I needed both a desktop and a laptop and I couldn't afford a macbook as well. Also I've lived with windows through its life and switching to mac os is fiddly although it is a pretty and more functional one (windows updates don't they drive you bonkers!). I'd be seriously tempted if mac do a cheaper netbook now that I only use a laptop for all my computing needs though.
I think file transfer and formatsbetween mac and pc are a lot better now than they were.
So no help from me then!? Soz.0 -
Wow just ebayed for prices - too rich for my blood - v. nice though!0

they are of a higher build quality, and importantly, also retain their value when it comes to resale...0

I like Macs for personal computing - they're less hassle then Windows in my opinion. I prefer to use Windows at work though so I guess it depends on what you want to do with your computer. Also OS X isn't much use for games.0

If you like them and want one, get one.
Just don't go into it with the illusion that they're somehow magical and are entirely problem free, then you won't get disappointed.0
