02 PayTalkalot tariff

Anyone else getting charged for using their own home wireless because the above tariff does ot include data?

I quizzed 02 and they replied "It's because the phone connects through your SIM you get charged £1/day to access your own broadband"

I realise that my tariff is hopelessly out of date but come on??? £30/month on PAYG to sit and surf in your own house? Haven't yet replied to 02 although I am going to change to TXT and Web.

Thoughts on 02's reply above?

With a wireless enabled phone you would normally be able to connect to any wireless signal where you have the password .
If you are connecting through your sim then this would normally be Mobile Data via your network not wireless and chargeable .
I would check your WiFi settings in your phone and use that to connect to your home router as it looks as if you are not using wireless but network .

To be honest I wasn't doing anything, the phone was charging.

So, due to a phone setting, I was charged? I can handle that, not a problem.

In a nutshell, the 02 bloke was speaking the truth?
