Tax credits..... Again!

Hi,
I posted on here last week about tax credits and the childcare element taking too long to process, well........
Finally today, after now falling 5 weeks behind with new childminder (owing her £1500) they have finally updated my claim, but are not paying a lump sum to cover from the 1st October, instead are just spreading the payments over the rest of the year. This really doesn't help me because when i get my next payment (23rd Nov) i will owe her some 7 and half weeks and the payment i get will not cover it. Is there anything i can do about this? The blokey at TC just said "sorry" lol!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Hi Mummy,
Sorry I cant be much help but how did you manage to get them to finally update your claim??
I am still waiting and I am on week 8 :-(
2 complaints are in and I've been told it could take another 4 weeks as thats how long they have to look into my complaint!
I am so so desperate!
I'f I were you I'd ring and ask for a manager.0 -
I think i just got lucky, after constantly trying the specialist team number i was given, actually managed to get through to (the one and only time!) the lady was so nice, called my child minder to confirm details and actioned my award straight away. Good luck to you hope you get yours sorted soon!0

Does anyone know whether i can ask for it to be paid in a lump sum or does it have to be spread over the remainder of the year?
Advice pleasssse!0 -

Spoke to someone in the tax office last week about this issue as I'm owed 4 months but finish my 6 month contract in 2 months, so higher payments still leave me out of pocket. She said the computer system seems to do it randomly and they have no control, but after you get your award notice you can appeal and ask for the lumpsum then.0 -

Sounds a bit like me RazWaz I finish my contract at the end of March - Hope they give me the lump sum! If not I will definitely be appealing!

I was told I'd get my award notice within 7-10 days, that was 4 days ago so I'll update when it comes through.
I have just had a phone call - been told they have no idea why its not been done but that they will call me back at 3pm for all my work/childcare details and will update it then.............0 -

He did call me back and said it has all now been updated - 8 weeks later! He said I should expect my backdated award by Friday/Monday.
I wont hold my breath even though he was the most helpful person I have spoken to in 8 weeks!0 -
How far behind are they? I'm expecting mine to go down next month but still haven't received the award notice (despite updating them last month).Taking baby-steps :beer:0

Updating as promised, got my award notice and I'm getting a lump sum payment next Monday followed by weekly payments every Tuesday after that. Hopefully you'll get a lump sum too
