I think it has been a brilliant start that I can work on. I can join the waiting list again if I want to go back, but the woman I was seeing was only temporary so won't be there much longer. Not sure if I want to go back to the start with anyone at the moment, so I think I'll see how it goes. At least I know it works for me if I need it again.Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0

Well exciting news on the cheese front - nice Italian woman said she would complain to courier, and it seems that her complaint got them back out delivering yesterday afternoon, and there was a big box of cheese and stuff there when we got home
It turns out that the thing I thought was going to be salami is in fact a kind of pancetta/bacony thing, and there is loads of it! So I think we will be fine for pasta dishes ingredients for quite a while!
In other non-cheese related news, I finished my essay last night, save for a final read through. Started a new section of course on philosophy of language which is really interesting but quite technical.. still, have lots of time on this one as we are supposed to have a 'break' for Easter, but I'll still be reading...
Just checked bank and have £265 left with three weeks till payday. No big spends coming up. Two weeks till we go away for the weekend too!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Hurray! And as for the phrase "non-cheese related news" - I think its up there with me hoping for incontinent cats :rotfl:
All sounds good - I'm envious of the pancetta thingy - I don't think Quorn do those bacon bits any more, there's just those awful thin slices that go stiff as a board ... I *miss* bacon!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
:rotfl: We do have some funny things going on round here don't we?
Hmm yep when I have considered going veggie, bacon is one of those things I would struggle with - not so much bacon sandwiches but the bits in pasta and stuff. Best not look at this KarmaThis is what we got... http://fxcuisine.com/default.asp?Display=8
Got to say I've gone a bit veggie mad this week - it must be spring.. had lots of rocket (shop bought) with sorrel and herbs (both homegrown).. tons of broccoli (shop) and swiss chard (garden). Garden is bursting into live - got pea tops, shiso, rocket (although that's been nibbled by slugs), landcress, more sorrel, chives, marjoram, basil, and our own broccoli almost big enough to eat!
In other happy news - talking about holidays with Mr S last night, as I still have 3 weeks to use until the end of August. Looking at taking a week in June and a week in July, definitely want to go to France so might have a weekend in Paris followed by a few days somewhere a bit more rural. The other week I'll just take odd days/ half days.. like this afternoonGloriously sunny so far too good to miss!

Ooh, I did have a quick look! Wow! Also wow to a link on Pippi's thread, I think, https://www.allaboutallotments.com - by a Liverpool GP! Good for him ...2023: the year I get to buy a car0

That looks great - I love seeing photos of the progress of gardens etc.
I said on payday this month I was going to have a reduced treats budget this month - so far I've spent £20 on books (all future study related philosophy/ English language/ linguistics stuff). I think I'll set my budget at £50 in case of any other bits and pieces.
Half an hour till hometime.. woohoo!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -

Hi El
Well, you've already got your blog account - if you go to http://www.blogger.com/home you should see a 'create a blog' link. Then just follow the instructions really - one thing I would say is to have a good look round the privacy settings, decide if you want to have to approve comments before they show up for example. Give me a shout if you get stuck with anything.
Had a lovely weekend - outside as much as possible. Read lots, gardened, went out for dinner, walked in the Peaks - have definitely got some colour in my cheeks!
Off out for dinner again tonight and then to the opera - will be an Italian evening all roundDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Opera! Lovely! What are you going to see?2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Two Puccini operas performed by English Touring Opera. I don't think I've ever seen a whole opera before, only extracts.Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0
