Hi, i was going to change my all in one printer because of the price of cartridges, then i thought..ahh MSE solution.
There is a company called Cartridge People.com on t'interweb, who can do our lexmark cartridges for about £15 and free p+p the more i order the cheaper it is. Considering the cheapest i can get locally ( cartridge world re fills) are £29 then that is a massive saving. Tesco's cartridges have gone up to around £50 so i thought, that i don't want to spend out just yet for a new printer and once the printer starts to go then i will.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
Hi Bob - we did try a few different places but most can only do "compatible" inks for our machine which we've learnt really don't give the finish that DD needs for her art/photos.....the new one (after searching around and getting some cashback) is less than the cost of 2 lots of ink for the old one - it will pay for itself within a few months.
I must admit though that it did take a lot of thinking about to order a new one, seems very un-mse on the face of it."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Thanks for the tip Bob - I don't do a lot of printing or need high quality so can probably get away with compatible inks.
Still no sign of the laptop - phoned them and they said it had either been sent yesterday or would be today.. grrr... and then emailed me a tracking number which doesn't work!! GRRR!
Anyway, got quite a bit of work done at home this morning, although computer was being very slow - I need my laptop! Decided to come in to work this afternoon so I could get some stuff done on a better computer.
Have booked tickets for Much Ado About Nothing for the end of MaySpent ages looking at London hotels and thinking "ouch how much?" and then Mr S came up with the idea of staying one night there and getting the Eurostar to Paris the next day - been talking about visiting Paris for a while. So we are going to look into that.. and I'm going to attempt to refresh my French first rather than my Spanish.

Brilliant! That sounds *really* good - the Eurostar is such a pleasure to travel on, and Kings Cross is an amazing station - Hogwarts Station is next door (St Pancras) and inside KX its the late 21st century2023: the year I get to buy a car0

St Pancras (International) is amazing these days, it's like an airport! Mr S had a meeting in London the other week and they actually had it in one of the restaurants in the station, which he said was pretty pricey but very very nice. We're hoping we might be able to get a cheaper Eurostar ticket leaving early in the morning from London - whereas if we were starting from here we'd have a few hours trip down south first.
