asda 5.1 surround with a technika hd lcd tv

i have just brought a 5.1 surround sound system from asda to take the place of the onboard speakers of the tv while i'm watching fiilms through my ps3 but the tv doesnt have the yellow white and red connections only has the y pb pr (blue green red) connection a head phone socket a pc audio socket a vga port s-video 2 scart & 2 hdmi sockets the surround sond only has the red and white connection is there a way i can get the surround sound system to work with my tv?

Does the "AV amp" have optical in? you can connect the PS3 directly, if not the PS3 should/did come with a lead to connect the "AV multi out" socket to the yellow and white and red you require, I believe its actually only the yellow lead you need.

That way sound goes to the amp via Phono lead and visuals to the TV via HDMI.

all i have is the sub woofer and 5 satalite speakers everyhing goes into the back of the sub woofer there is no optical port on the subwoofer at all i've tried putting the yellow from the "av multi out" into the scart converter and attaching the red and white lead from the sub woofer to the scart converter and still no sound am i missing something?

On the PS3 menu you can select whether the audio exits via optical or the multi AV, maybe that is set to Digital Optical, check that first.

If you have a link to this asda jobby I can have a look and see the best connect cable but it will be analogue via the AV multi.

Looks like your TV doesn't have any sound OUTPUT - are you sure about this? If so, last thing to do is connect the headphone socket of the TV to the red and white (called stereo phono) at the back of the sub. These cables are cheap on eBay etc.
Better option is to get the PS3 connected. What's the point in a 5.1 channel setup if you can only connect 2 channels though?!!!
