Evening all,

Just wondering when to book our flights for our wedding/honeymoon in Vegas next October.

The flight on BA have just been released and are sub £650 return.

This is a pretty reasonable price, but is it the best I can get?

I'd perfer to fly with Virgin, but they are a bit more pricey than BA.

Any help, much appeciated.

    £350 sounds a good price.

Best time to book IMO is usually just after release, so now.

That Virgin flight is the pits though why would you rather go with them.

You need to take your own seat cushion or suffer a numb bum.

I agree with photome. The aircraft used on the LAS flights are generally the Manchester and Gatwick fleet.. high density with the earlier generation IFE.

I wouldn't tell you not to travel Virgin, because they're not a bad airline. Would I take BA over them? Maybe.

As to answer your original question. It's hard to tell. Try using Kayak below.. there are flights on Air Canada sub £550 via Toronto.

hi I booked well in advance and got a really good price with BA through Trailfinders, they have some kind of link so it may be worth speaking to them too :)

Shame about the £350 not being right.....

However, I have to disagree with the opinions of those who think as far as possible in advance is best.

That works with Easyjet/Ryanair et al but not generally on Transatlantic routes.

An October flight will probably be at it's cheapest in June/July of next year. You should be able to find a fare history to get a good idea of what the price should be and use that as a guideline.

Best time to book is usually 11 months prior to departure, so roughly now!:)

Where can you find a fare history.

trouble with the Vegas flight you might find it is full that close to departure, if you want to travel on a specific date with a specific airline

Surely the best time to buy a ticket depends on how ticket sales are going. If there's a downturn in transatlantic travel then I would imagine the price will go down as they become desperate to fill the plane.

If the converse happens and ticket sales are healthy then there is no reason for them to reduce prices, and of course if you leave it too late you may find they are sold out.
