it just seemed a good idea to let you know as it was in your sig.
there are ways and means of doing it though - i have dyslexia and i cant spell well, but it does not mean to say im not a nice person, and it does not mean to say i have no valid points to make.

My point was basicly that the seller could have made a mistake - why phone? because its quicker - its quicker beause everything can be said to each party within mins, rather than over x amount of time (email failings and that) :) but if you ask the seller to call you because "your phone cant call mobiles" im sure he or she will do that for you. Otherwise, ask for refund becuase its their fault. it has afterall been a week you have been waiting :)

It is a shame when people on the forum can't post a point of view without being ridiculed.
I don't actually agree that anyone was ridiculed.

I'm not sure I agree with McLaren's point of view but that's as far as it goes.

If anything I said has been taken as ridiculing or belittling, I can only apologise and restate that that was not my intention.

  • I think it is true that people can come across as something they may not intend. I am just a bit concerned recently about the number of excellent contributors to MSE feel they are being treated badly. Actually to attack someone's spelling is ridiculing. If you look at Mclaren's thank rate you will see how his views are highly respected. Wish mine was as good!!

  • If people want to point out a spelling mistake then maybe a pm is in order to protect the poster's feelings.

    Did you call them?
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.

No, I just sent an email saying he could send it to arrive at any time, just make sure I was informed which day it was coming.

    Still not heard back, though.

One point Moglex, when I am sending stuff by courier, it all gets packed up ready to go and dispatch e-mail sent. Once or twice I have had a problem with collection taking place that day. I do this because I am dreadful at remembering to send the e-mail after the collection has taken place and then the customer gets a delivery they are not expecting.

So On that question I wouldn't worry too much. What is the weight? Or which model ad we can see if we can find the weight!

    Two points there.

Firstly, if it was "ready to go" why didn't he know it weighed too much?

I doubt that CityLink drivers bring scales to weigh things. He's sold these before and should know the limits.

Secondly, why didn't he let me know the next morning that it wasn't coming instead of letting me hang around all day waiting for something that hadn't even beed dispatched (and rescheduling Monday to be available since I naturally assumed if it didn't come on the Friday it would appear on the Monday).

With packing, I should imagine around 25kilos (22 kilos net).

    Still no response.

If he does try and wriggle out of sending it I may take him to court for loss of bargain.

It's not just the loss of the printer, it's the cavalier way he's wasting my time that is beginning to really annoy me.

Still, around 300 ebay transactions and this is my first real problem.
