I'm due to go to Egypt in 2 weeks and wanted to take my Blackberry with me for my music.

I'm guessing as it's always internet connected it will be really expensive if abroad (even though I'm on contract) is this correct and if so, is there a way i can just use the phone as a music player and to send texts?

It could be that i'm wrong in my thinking and someone will tell me it will be fine, but wanted to check first.

Cant find on the vodaphone website and help and can't seem to speak to anyone 'in person' on their tel no.

i'm in my connections settings and the only options I have are:

Mobile network vodaphone (with a tick next to it)
Wi-Fi (with a tick next to it)
Bluetooth (with no tick next to it)

i don't have international roaming, would it be anywhere else?

  • Try Options/Mobile Network/Data and change this to Off.

    Which handset is it?

Prees Blackberry key, settings, manage connections, mobile network options, data services...set it to off.

You can also turn it off in the web based system where you check your account.

Thanks for this, my phone set up is different to the above but I can find 'Data Services' and 'While Roaming' under my Options key. I will turn both these to off and also check out the online system too.

    many thanks.
