For a store card application I told them i was on sickness benefit and they put me down as at home. Didn't have any luck when I put that down on credit card application, which is just as well since I saved for what I wanted and now have a Visa Debit which I can use anywhere as long as the money is in account.0

I'd say about 40% of MSE contributors are lower class judging by the posts I have read. If class is based on the ability to put together structured and articulate posts, which are correctly spelt and grammatically accurate, we may need to make that 70% :rotfl:
I absolutely agree with you.
I was shocked to find on one thread that they wanted the state to 'make' unskilled jobs for those that are unemployed.
The posting was so poor that I would have said that they had never been to school.
All that money that has been spent on education over a person's lifetime 12/13 years and what do we end up with?
As you say, they find great difficulty in finding words longer than four letters.0 -
I would have thought that if you can save between £350 to £500 per month then it really wouldnt take you long to save for what you want, instead of borrowing and ending up paying high APR rates.... plus you wont have to reveal your personel details to loan companies of your profession ..........
If you save say £400 per month thats £4.800.00 in a year.... but it depends how quick you want the item and how much you need to borrow.........:)
You are correct.
However we dont budget without good reason (most anyway), And im no differant.
I am in debt at the moment and look forward to getting out of debt in the next 3-4 months.
But i do think you have missed my point, It was more geared toward how i can "improve" my credit and at the same time not lower my chances on potential credit/loan applications. (ie... writing unemployed, retired etc...)
Also thank you to those who have remained on topic and replied here, As i read every post and some were very helpful.
And to those who have not remained on topic, Pull your finger out this is a very very helpful site/forum.
Thanks again.0 -
Dx I was meaning that he wont like it but they will see him as retired, i dont like it as im only 51.
Mandy, I was on a teachers forum and they were laughing at me where i put full stops and commas,
I said you should be ashamed of yourselves, I was a bricklayer and that is equal to me laughing at one of the apprentices i taught once the house fell down that he built.
So if I taught him and I stand there laughing at how bad I taught him what does that say about me.
I dont think the got the meaning they were teachers and a bit slow.0 -
