o2 will also allow you to change tarrifs if your contract is more than 3 months old, so you could cut to 19 a month (think thats the cheapest)0

I cancelled sky last year and at first i had a hard time from the kids about not having sky so I would get them 3 dvds for 3 nights for 3.50 at the weekends which they were more than happy with... now the habit of sky watching is broken they rarely ask for dvds anymore.
£53 X 12 months = £636! that is a lot of savings!0 -
            Hi there mate
Looks as if you are on the same package as me with 3mobile- is it the one thats 3000 off peak minutes a month?
TBH the next package down is pants compared ( dont tell me off DFWS) as its only a fiver less and only 200 off peak minutes. So I wasnt going to dopwn shift that, but I guess you could if you dont use your mobile? But let the family use it if they are calling mobies instead of usig the house phone
NTL calls - whats that at 12.50pcm? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

            hi plzhelpmesave!
no problem in you asking about my debt, im on a DMP with payplan and pay £50 a month thats why my DFD is so far away, just filling in my annual review at the moment so will up it another £10 did this last year and it will knock a few years off, so hope i will bring that date forward soon :-)0 -
Good morning all , Cheers for the responses so far, they are appreciated.
plzhelpmesave! - Theres no food amount on the soa because essentially we dont have a "budget" in that respect - We do however eat buy clothes etc but its not a set amount we have - if its a good week on ebay we eat steak - if its a not so good week we eat smart price lol - bit of a generalisation but you know what i mean. We havent ( and never will) gone short on the basics.
Smashing - Jobs are being applied for daily, the main problem i have there is my wife works nights so i cant do the traditional part time bar / kitchen / supermarket work in the evening - Im attempting to get day time jobs but despite it being the 21st century, you wouldnt believe how many employers look at a MAN who has taken time out from work to bring up his kids with suspicion !!
Biffa - council tax IS the first thing i wanna get sorted - we have had trouble with them in heh past and were fortunatly bailed out by a relative but cant / dont want to go asking a second time. With regards to benefits im entitled to NOTHING
, believe me ive tried - last time i applied was 6 months ago and was told i couldnt get contributions based JSA because i hadnt paid enough stamp - turns out if i had of had teh child benefit in my name since my son wasborn i would of been ok but no one informed us of this 4 years ago when he was born !! - Anyway i changed the child benefit over in may so im going to phone the benfits up again today and try for contributions based JSA so will let you know later . As for other benefits we can get absolutely nothing and never have done.
Re the mortgage - moving isnt an option - son settled at school, wife employed locally etc - Yes the mortgage is silly high but we have only just changed it ( to get rid of a repossesion order ) so we have been hit with high interest etc - just gotta keep paying it for 3 years, make sure i dont miss a payment and then look at changing to a better rate.
Skys on the "to phone" list
im loathed to contact CCCS / Payplan at the moment to be honest. Maybe foolish of me i know but whilst we are strugglling, we are just about coping at the mo. I have personally identified the "important" debts to clear asap and although the list looks scary big, a lot of the debts are small enough to be capable of being paid off in a lump sum when money comes from ebay and when i get a job )
Thanks all for your replies and keep them coming - i do appreciate it and its certainly helping me to look at my situation and think.0 -
Are you not entitled to working families tax credit at all?
I got rid of NTL and went with freeview, which I am happy with and so is my 13 year old. It just took a wee while getting used to it, but don't miss NTL at all now! Your mortgage is massive, but I don't now what you could do about it except move to a cheaper property.
I know it looks alot, but there is so much inspiration on the forum. You'll get there.0 -

we WERE entitled to wroking family tax credit - then they decided we werent, then they asked for it back - so im not sure tbh
at the mo they want £1800 paid back - well actually they have sent us 3 figures that we owe so we arent sure how much we need to pay back tbh.
Its something we gotta look into and find out if we are entitled to it even though we owe it if that makes sense0 -
your house insurance seems high, have you checked around? i recently switched my home insurance to halifax as they have an insurance sale on and old insurance was 295 per year and now I am payig 162 per year saved 133 by switching0
