we have been looking at a tortoise firebox today but am worried it will give out too much heat. The bumpf we read about it says 5.2 kw which I think is a lot of heat. If we have to open windows we may as well keep the old firegrate draughty chimney option. I cant find out any reviews on the internet.
Has anyone got one and can advise please0 -
An idea of the size of room to heat would help
5 kw isn't so very hot and I think from reading through the many threads on here it's a popular size. I use a 6 kw which heats my lounge to sit around in t shirt temps and keeps the adjoining rooms to a comfortable high teens
Can't advise on that particular brand of stove0 -
Evergreen ST0406 Poplar Multifuel / Woodburning Stove
This is the model I have. A stove is massively more efficient than an open fire. This is can give out too much heat though but if you leave the room door open it heats much of the house.0
