has anyone had a direct debit from Homeser(presume that is homeserve only have mini statement at the moment) i deffinately have not agreed to any DD with them that particular account is only used for a morgage payment and Sky TV, can anyone help please,

This is definately Santander. I have a security marker on my account as i have previously had fraud on my account so my bank contacts me every time a new DD instruction is received to check whether it's genuine.
I had 2 notifications from my bank about DD's with the ref Crd Deb Crd Sub so i cancelled them both. As i work for the bank, i asked a friend to do a bit of digging for me and they told me the only reference they had was SCL which is Santander Cards Ltd. Solved.
I logged a complaint with Santander about the references and told them that i had cancelled the DD's and that if i incurred any late payment fees then i would refuse to pay them as i could not verify who these payments were being claimed by. As usual, their service was appalling, it took the full 8 weeks for them to respond. Their response was a standard letter which wasn't even filled in correctly, stating that my bank would have been able to confirm who the DD's were to !! Don't think so ! I've worked for the bank for 17 years, i know what info was available, it was guesswork that solved it.
I received my Debenhams statement with a late fee and a Wallis card with a late fee also. The Complaints dept telephone number on Santanders response to me was unobtainable (good service eh ?) so i phoned another number that i found and after 20 minutes arguing with someone, they agreed to refund the fees for me.
Never never never never have anything to do with Santander, they're the worst bank in the world.0
