How about trying it using a lip brush or similar or a cotton wool bud on a stick?

Clinique lipstick problem?
Several people on the thread "Free Clinique Lipstick" are also unhappy with the shade they received and would like to swap. Why don't the unhappy ones set up a separate thread and say what shade they have and the colour they would prefer e.g. Recvd nude would like a brown shade.
