How much do you spend in Tesco every week since retiring?

My wife does the main shop in Waitrose and I get extra stuff from the Co-op, Morrisons and our local butcher.
Monthly average for two is £350 but this does include my booze.
I am surprised that our bills s seem higher than others have posted, especially as we do lots of home cooking.0 -
that's 'cos you do your main shop at Waitrose! :rotfl:
some of their stuff is not too bad, price wise, and it's all lovely, but cheap - never! even when reduced their fresh meat is darned expensive, for example.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

I suppose it depends how much you spend on booze :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
.
I don’t know how much we spend on our shopping but like most women my wife is a canny shopper, (she shops and I’m the walking wallet).
Seriously, since retiring we shop around, and don’t have any allegiance to any particular supermarket. Recently though my ‘ever loving’ has taken to calling into Lidl on a regular basis and I must say that I agree with previous comments here that their produce is quite good and cheaper than your average store (especially Waitrose as previously mentioned here by SAVVY SUE).

Oh dear. You lot are so economical. Our monthly shop in Waitrose is around £550-600 for two. Why I don't really know:(. When I retired I did the shopping and averaged £300/month. Then when my wife retired and did the shopping it went up to the first figure. I look in the trolley and don't recognise half of it, just dozens of small bottles of this and that. The only good thing I can say is that our shopping looks more interesting on the belt than other people's.:)0

If you can afford it, enjoy it!" The greatest wealth is to live content with little."

My budget was £45 per week up until about October, but it has had to rise because of recent prices so i guess we spend around £50-£55 most weeks. Like OP we take advantage of offers so some weeks are less than others. However the big difference is we still have 2 adult "children" living with us (they cant afford to move out), so we are feeding 4 adults on that. We do not have any pets, dont smoke and spend very little on magazines/alcohol etc.0

Its the 'dozens of bottles' that put the price up. Hic! pardon!
