Booking Vegas hotel with Alpharooms/travelrepublic/lowcostholidays, etc

Have found out this morning i will be liable for the resort fee for this hotel, booked through Alpharooms.
Now i need to find out how to get my deposit back... For the people (namely 'photome' ) who dont seem to understand my point, i'll put it in simple terms belowSo moving onto Consumer advice now...
Example:
I buy a Harry Potter book from Amazon for a total advertised price of £10.
When i receive the book, i then find i cant read it, unless i pay Harry Potter £3.50 to read it..
But...........
If i bought the same book from Waterstones, for a total advertised price of £8, and was advised i would need to pay Harry Potter £3.50 to read it, I am therefore informed of the contract/transaction i am entering, and cant say i have been mislead.
Point is, you dont pay a fee to read a book, so therefore, i dont want to pay a fee to a hotel that wasnt advised, advertised, explained, pointed out, mentioned, listed, etc etc.....
As i clearly said from the start, Alpharooms advertise that there will be a $1 per day charge for each night you stay in this hotel, and only through asking lots of questions do i now find they are saying i will be liable for the $9.95 per day fee.
So clearly i need to get out of this contract, because i have been mislead...
Any advice on that ?0 -

To be fair, I think all photome was trying to say was speak to the hotel and Alpharooms directly to get the correct answer, which you have now done. By asking people on here, you will get different answers, some correct and some not, which is of no use to you.
As for now, I advise speaking/emailing Alpharooms themselves, explain the situation and ask for an immediate refund (if that's what you want). You may find they give you your money back without a fight. If they fob you off, come back on here and I'm sure someone will be able to advise on the next steps to take.0 -

I am not sure I like that sentence. I have tried to be helpful in this thread and your in your other threads and questions, including just replying to you on the Vegas board.
I understood exactly where you were coming from but as tingtong pointed out you were never going to get the definitive answer from another poster.
Who is it that has now told you that you will be liable for the resort fee.
And going back right to the beginning, myself along with lots of others advised booking direct with the hotel nearer the time were the price will be around the same or less, but you said you wanted to book along way in advance.0 -

Have you tried speaking to Alpharooms? It really may be as simple as explaining the situation and indicating you would like to cancel the reservation as you believe the information you have been provided by them is incomplete and you will incur additional fees you were not made aware of. Who knows until you ask the question?Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Yup, spoke to Alpharooms, and emailed them.... This thread now goes to:
