Booking Vegas hotel with Alpharooms/travelrepublic/lowcostholidays, etc

Original Post below.... I have been given the answer i was looking for, so now need to know how to get a deposit back from a tour operator... Posted this just:

Have found out this morning i will be liable for the resort fee for this hotel, booked through Alpharooms.
Now i need to find out how to get my deposit back...

Example:
I buy a Harry Potter book from Amazon for a total advertised price of £10.
When i receive the book, i then find i cant read it, unless i pay Harry Potter £3.50 to read it..
But...........
If i bought the same book from Waterstones, for a total advertised price of £8, and was advised i would need to pay Harry Potter £3.50 to read it, I am therefore informed of the contract/transaction i am entering, and cant say i have been mislead.

Point is, you dont pay a fee to read a book, so therefore, i dont want to pay a fee to a hotel that wasnt advised, advertised, explained, pointed out, mentioned, listed, etc etc.....
As i clearly said from the start, Alpharooms advertise that there will be a $1 per day charge for each night you stay in this hotel, and only through asking lots of questions do i now find they are saying i will be liable for the $9.95 per day fee.
So clearly i need to get out of this contract, because i have been mislead...
Any advice on that ?

Alpharooms
Travelrepublic or
Lowcostholidays.com ???
and more importantly, have you been to your hotel on the Strip yet ?
If so, did you find you had to pay the resort fee of a hotel or did you find because neither website states about the resort fee, that the cost is included in the price you paid for your room via one of those websites... ???? (they advertise the fact you have to pay $1 per day for telephone usage which is fair enough)

Booked 4 nights at the Wynn last year with alpharooms. They were the cheapest by a long way (they had a 4 for 3 deal on).

Paid when booked. Stayed there 3 weeks later with no issues. Nothing to pay on check out.

I ask because the hotels on the strip charge there resort fee, and when booking via the likes of Expedia or Ebookers, the website states you will have to pay a resort of $9.99 per day, etc etc..
Alpharooms and the like dont state this, so to protect myself, i dont want to turn up at the Excalibur and have them tell me i gotta cough up $70 resort fee, when the operator i book with doesnt state that this charge applies to me!

Check the site lasvegasresortfees.com, they list all the on and off strip hotels that do or do not have fees.

I'd also like to know this answer, we're going to Orlando and was looking at TravelRepublic and WeFly.co.uk

I think it's similar regards Resort Fee/Taxes there.

think u missed the point....
I book a hotel room with COMPANY A for £100 a week, a UK ABTA/ATOL bonded company, and pay my total £100 for the week, and receipt shows £100 TOTAL bill
I book a hotel room with COMPANY B for £100 a week, a UK ABTA/ATOL bonded company, this COMPANY states the rate does not include the resort fee of say £30, and is payable on Check-in. Receipt shows total bill of £100 + the £30 payable direct to the hotel.

So because COMPANY A does not indicate there is a fee to pay, then i should not be liable for anymore expense given my Total bill with COMPANY A states £100
Another way of looking at is, you book a hotel/car/chainsaw hire, etc etc with a company, as far as you know, all costs are covered (say £50). You turn up to collect your product and they say theres an additional fee of £5000.... What would you do? same applies for the above.
I know which charges what, my question is if you used either of these decent booking agents for hotels in Vegas, have you had to pay a resort fee when you got there, or did you find that resort fee included in your price....

Alpharooms have emailed me back when i called them (as they dont answer emails!) This is the reply:

Further to our conversation earlier this afternoon, I can confirm that your will not have to pay the resort tax. Please refer to your voucher as on their it states:

"Reservation and payment for room and tax only by American Tours Int who act as principal on the booking, who act as principal on this booking. Supplier reference: 3991211"

The resort will be aware of this. Apologies for any confusion this may have caused.

So there saying that i wont have to pay the resort fee..... I wonder if i will be opening the thread again in June ? (see where i highlighted in Bold..)

Quite honestly if you book your flight seperately, having done this for several years in the past, it is cheaper to book your hotel in Vegas directly through the hotels website, I have never had any problems doing that and the hotels charge per room NOT per person, hope this helps:A

This maybe a repeat. If you book your flights seperately I would then book the hotel directly with the hotel website because they charge per room and NOT per person I have done this scores of times and never had any problems. :A

I paid £275 to stay for 1 week in the Excalibur checkin in on the 3rd June. I paid £275 which according to Alpharooms includes the resort fee. All i will have to pay at checkin is the $7 for the telephone call charges which it states on the website.... so basically lets say £280 for the week....

Booking directly as you say, picking the same cheapo room, including the resort fee comes in at $735.06 which equates to around £465 ish......

Is the Alpharooms booking refundable? If so keep looking closer to the June date as I found out most of the special deals (20-30-40% off)were available around 4-2 months prior to the date.
Right now, Hotels.com quotes £360 for your week not including any cashback.

I also personally think you will also get charged the resort fee. That voucher sentence is too vague. The Harrah's group (Bally's, Flamingo, PH, IP,....) do not charge a resort fee.
