number of ISAs?

Hi all,
What's the maximum number of ISA accounts I can hold? I have a three year, fixed rate ISA in which I can't invest any more than my original deposit plus a bog standard Santander ISA. Next tax year I'd like to open another fixed rate but am not sure whether that's allowed.
And is there a maximum overall amount that can be held in ISA accounts?
Thanks.

You could, if you wished, open & fund one new Cash ISA every tax year - probably rather unwieldy, though.....
No - the only limitation (other than annual subscription limits) is interest rates (Cash ISAs) or investment returns (Stocks & Shares ISAs)And is there a maximum overall amount that can be held in ISA accounts?0 -

Ok, thanks.
I seem to remember there used to be a limit of 27,000 for overall investment. Has this been done away with?0 -
I certainly have several times more than that figure in both Cash and Stocks & Shares ISA accounts and can't recall any such limitation since ISAs began (in 1999 from memory?).I seem to remember there used to be a limit of 27,000 for overall investment. Has this been done away with?0 -

I'm not aware there ever was such a limit - unless it was the number of years ISAs had been going multiplied by the maximum annual subscription. In which case it will go up every year0
