I've been looking round for awhile now wanting the Nokia N8 however the deals that O2 offer are poor as hell compared to other suppliers e.g less mins less text and have to pay for the phone.
I tried to speak to the upgrades team (0800 1313 136) as was told they could match other suppliers deals but they made no attempt to offer a good deal at all so i asked for my pac code and was told they would text this too me still making no attempt to offer a decent deal.
Anyone know if O2 can match others offers? I want to stick with o2 as they are the only supplier who provide a good signal where i live

The deal i want them to match is a 24month deal from vodafone but they wont even go close to it

What you should do is take everything into consideration (price, service, any significant conditions etc) and choose which is best for you.
Ask questions, Can I change the tariff down/up if need be? When could I upgrade? What is the customer service like? How is the coverage in areas I use? What is included/excluded? etc.

    Tenth Anniversary
Had virtually the same conversation with O2 myself, To stay with O2 was going to cost me £100 a year more on each phone so I ended up moving all 5 of my phones from them to TMobile on their £7.50 a month offer. O2 seem to have the attitude that they are the only one you are going to use at the moment .

    Agreed.

I rang them Saturday and the response I was given was they are only doing deals on the iphone 4, end of discussion.
  • Have you tried another supplier i.e Phones 4u or Carphonewarehouse? I upgraded to a free Blackberry Torch through Phones 4u. 1000mins, unlimited texts and Blackberry 750MB and unlimited public Wi-Fi all at £35pm. This offer is not on O2.

ah that good to hear, i'll be popping down to my local store 2mrw. Will report back on any findings.

    Thanks Mechanic :)
  • Please try and deal with networks over p4u or carphone. If you have to use either please use Carphone as p4u are absolute cowboys. But both of them will fob you off to the network when you have a problem :(

I was covering The Holloway store and I had a customer come in who bought a Blackberry curve 8520 from Phones 4u but they had smashed the screen on the phone. within 14 days of purchase so they told them to come to the network store as they don't deal with phones after being sold and we would give them an exchange on the spot. This isn't the 1st time i've seen p4u do this they do it every day. They will sell you a phone and then want nothing more to do with you.

PLEASE try and deal directly with networks :)
