  • the only thing I can advise from a friends experience is if you subscribe to sky or cable then dont get one with freeview built in it makes the picture a little worse than without the freeview. it is a 42'' lcd one she has and when she unplugs the sky and uses the freeview the picture improves greatly.

Then there is a problem with how she has wired her system.

How is the SKY connected? Compositie/SVideo/Component ?
  • hmm dont know i think she/he used the the instructions that came with the TV but cant be sure. thing is she doesnt claim to notice it as she has an @ £2000 TV and says it is in my imagination (she is very look at me and what i have got type of person).

does anyone have experience of projectors?
picked up a leaflet from comet but apart from the prices it does not tell you much else.

Before you buy any equipment you need to know what sources you'll be using.

    In regards to projectors:
    1. The contrast ratio rules out daytime viewing
    2. Projector bulbs are usually guaranteed for 90 days
    3. Bulb life can be between 1000hrs and 5000hrs

The main advantage, of course, is size of picture you can create :D

If your unsure, I would seek out an AV centre near you than buy from Comet.

Spend some time reading the LCD/DLP forum to see what is available.

    thanks,
it was was a wild idea but i think i'll forget that.

i was looking for integrated digital as i dont want too many boxes cluttering up the room.
    skyhd it to expensive.

is it just my imagination or do many/most lcd's and plasma's come without any speakers?

if so, does anyone know of any digibox, dvd, surroundsound, combo on the go that is all in one unit...apart from the speakers obviously?

I have heard bad storys about plasma. things like they have to be re-gassed every 1 - 2 years. why not get an LCD one.

I'm sorry but this total and utter nonsense. There is absolutely NO way of re-gassing a plasma TV. This is one of the biggest falsehoods put around by ignorant sales assistants. Link here to explain...
