  • Curiosity got the better of me when I spotted Donnie's post/rant above, so I checked out the posts he made on other threads on the Techie Board. I got even more curious when I noticed he'd been thanked a few times and checked out the post that reads as follows:
They can also see that whilst I was helping people, you were busy snitching. The result was that the solutions that were posted were deleted. Whilst you contributed nothing towards helping the OPs in question.

So I decided to check out symantec.com/connect/downloads/msi-run-administrator-context-menu-vista as he suggested. Guess what? It's fruitless, a dud. What a surprise!
  • Hi debitcardmayhem,

No, not been put off, though I did think "oh no!" and "hope this isn't going to keep up” when Donnie started posting and everyone started commenting. So thought I'd not get drawn in [except for above of course].

I ran a diagnostic test when my laptop first crashed and got this error code:

    Error Code 0146
    Msg: Error Code 2000-0146

What did you use for the diagnostic ? and is there anything in Event Viewer?

So please explain exactly what is dud about this link then?

It seems that some people just can't be helped by the Techies on here!

  • If as I presume it is a Dell Lappy look here it looks like a disk error

I cannot find anything dud about it either, and for my part I have no issues with any of Donnies help / advice in any of his guises. I would suggest that we don't feed the trolls.

I'm having a surreal experience, my browser keeps redirecting me to a episode of Eastenders here where backbiting, spite, gossip, smearing, malice and spitefulness is happening

It would be very interesting to see the result of a poll, if one was posted on the Techie Board.

Should the temporary ban on Donnie be lifted?

Should his childish stalker dell.mannn be banned?

My apologies, but when I clicked through it it actually took me through to a blank page. That's why I thought it was a dud. I got curious as I thought I'd give Donnie the benefit of the doubt if I must be honest with you.

Anyway, I've already got drawn in to this nonsense as you can see and my main intension is to sort my laptop out if I can and not this. I promised myself not to get drawn in as well as this isn't helpful.

If this carries on I'll go over to AVForums instead if that's alright with you.

Lugh, can you try to run in safe mode and do a system restore

    Thanks dell.mannn, I'll try that.
