Changing reasons for resignation

Hi
I resigned 3 weeks ago due to bullying and victimisation but the resignation letter i sent dis not mention any reasons but just that I will leave this job in a month time.
Now I am wondering whether I can add the reasons in my resignation letter or is it too late?
Many thanks

  • Why? What would you want to achieve?

It will help me get JSA and in future proof that I did make a complaint about bullying and victimisation.

Were you bullied, and did you complain?

Why didnt you put that as your reason initially.

My take is that you have resigned and can't change the documents now; I also woulnt accept it and instead look at instigating a full investigation to cover my own behind.

I also think JSA would want more evidence than your resignation anyway therefore it wont make any difference.

Have you raised any sort of grievance for the bullying? what is the bullying?

I rasied grievance to my direct manager and have email proof but he never solved or forwarded it to HR. My manager treated me unfairly and used me to do duties for his girlfriend which were not part of my contract.
I did not put that as I wanted to leave on good term but no matter how nice I am my manager has increased this bullying more as my leaving date approach.
  • Why didnt you then raise it with HR?
What sort of tasks? I can't see how this would count as bullying?

Well as I said I wanted to keep good working environment and in the hope of getting good reference. But now it seems i had delusions that he has consciousness.
I was discriminated and called by names (though difficult to prove). Well it is victimisation that he took my work and gave it to other people to take credit and used me for his girlfriend career.

I have requested a meeting with HR for Friday and need really good advice how I should take it. Please give me good advice as I have only 10 days to do something. I read somewhere that emplyee can complaint 3 months after leaving job.
  • I don't think what you describe is bullying in a form justifying resignation to go on JSA. You should have raised a formal grievance but ultimately he is your boss and as long as he wasnt being too unreasonable he can tell you to do what he wants when he wants even if this is helping other staff.

You have resigned so I suggest you move on.

It sounds like your plans have backfired and your not going to use bitterness to take a few people with you.

I dont mind even if I dont get JSA but problem is that my manager is willing to backstab me even at my new job and has hinted that he will go to any length.
Thus to protect myself from his malice in future I need to make a formal/informal complaint so I may mention it in future.
The only thing I have now is my grievances comlaint emailed to him.
  • Well to me it reads that you have deliberately left it to the end of the notice so it can't be defended or proven incorrect and thus you can refer to it as some sort of defence.
