I am fighting with a 6 year old. Can't she just grow up and move out

sorry - getting tired of the smallest of things being such a struggle. I have already threatened to a) cancel Christmas b) throw her advent calendars into the bin and due to hitting me she didn't get any pudding and won't get a bed time story. I am running out of threats and things that I can take away from her if she does't start to listen and get herself to bed soon.

It must be so difficult. I heard you say this before. Where did she learn about violence? is it normal for children? it was for me (at the recieving end) as i grew up in violent home. Can anyone think of a strategy? When one of my friends is upset with her daughter she puts her on the step and says she has to stay there but she is 5 and listens.

We have a naughty cushion, I should use it more often. She has now apologised, brushed her teeth and got ready. So I am fogiving her and read a story to get her to bed. No pudding thou.

0002017E.gif Eeeek Kit with no make-up on - that's like being naked for her

Marru - if our eldest dog, Bonnie, is being a pest, we tell her to go to bed and she slopes away onto her cushion or dog bed, wishever is there, but she starts to walk straight off it again until we say 'Hoi' as she stays there until she is told it is OK to move off again - sorry, I can't be any help with children hehe
