Well, we did our 400 mile round trip yesterday - arrived in Wisbech just before 2pm, like summer there, it was! Must say the Christmas lights along the brinks looked good when we came out again yesterday evening. (Complete with 4 Gagen's meat pies on board as well as Christmas goodies). Got back at about 10:45 last night, roads beautifully clear but temperature close to freezing on arriving home. It is thawing quite a bit at present but we have been threatened with heavy snow later in the week.

So, getting stuff together ready for work tomorrow (it comes hard after a week on holiday!) and making sure DS organised for school. OH has his orders to wash and iron the bedding tomorrow. Getting set for a busy week (4 long shifts instead of 3) so am busy planning meals so OH doesn't have to think too much. Tomorrow will be a Gagen's snake and pygmy pie, then probably burgers the next day, minced beef in some form Wednesday, sausages Thursday, fish and chips Friday. Sorted! And I will only have to cook one of those!

Yes, I'm home safe and sound now - train was perfectly on time - was in First Class with free wi-fi, plug-in for my laptop, free tea/coffee/biscuits but .................................... I was travel sick from the moment the train pulled out of the station, so spent the whole 2 hours 19 minutes of the journey either feeling sick or being sick   Although they weren't doing that sort of thing on the journey, the senior steward was kind enough to bring me some dry toast (no charge either) and I a couple of bottles of skarling water and that saw me through the journey . I do suffer sometimes from travel sickness but had been fine when travelling up :o I certainly didn't get travel sick when on the Royal Scotsman ;)

As Mr 3Dogs hadn't got the shopping in, we went straight to Mr M's after he met me at the station, then drove back over to Wisbech and went to Lidl's to see if they had any of the offer wireless 4 in 1 printers left (sadly they didn't or we would have got that with Christmas money from brother) and then Tesco to see if they had any (none that cheap) but we did get a Slow-Cooker which we have been thinking of getting for a while, for £12

So it was much later when we actually got home - dogs were very happy to see me - in fact later, Billy wouldn't go out for a walk, he had to be dragged out the door - I think he was frightened I might not be there when he got back - he slept cuddled up to me all night - and he is the one we have had the shortest time (2 years)

Mr 3Dogs got up early to be picked up at 5 am to go do the Car Boot but I stayed in bed - had a lovely sleep as our bed, with it's memory foam topper and lovely thick comforter over, is cosy and comfy. Got up about 10.45 am, took dogs out for quick walk (was freezing, very frosty even at that time) and then went out to drive down to car boot in the van ...................... but ................. it would not start and I drained the battery trying to start it. We have my neighbours key and spare car key so I had to borrow her car to go down - she is the one in hospital after breaking her knee and I am insured to drive her car - but I was going for some shopping for her (milk, bread, etc) as she is coming home from hospital on Tuesday, so she will not mind when I tell her

Mr 3Dogs will have to put battery from van on charge tonight

Glad you had a good journey Nargle - the weather does change as you get down this way, doesn't it? Though it was thawing quicker than we imagined it could when I left the North East. And it seems freezing here in Wisbech today - there again, I was at car boot for 2 hours and I have not been outside for that length of time for 7 weeks - as I said before, the frost is still about but there is no snow remaining down here - in fact it drizzled as they were all finishing packing away at the car boot, about 1 pm

Enjoy your Gagen's pies tomorrow - I'm sure you will!!!!!!
