Accessing 18866 account using Firefox

There is a problem accessing the secure pages of the 18866 website if you are using an older operating system (like what my local library uses). If you have Windows XP and the Firefox browser (or IE 6.0) I do not think there are any problems.
If you really are stuck then you have to use the non-secure log-in on 18866 (you may have to scroll down the log-in page to click the non-secure server)
I put many postings on MSE about the lack of security on 18866 - at one time the default log-in on the 18866 website was not secure. I do not know why they cannot have secure log-in with older Windows versions - I do not have problems when using older Windows versions on other secure sites.0 -
Same here. My Win98SE/IE6 configuration works on all sites except 18866.Paul_Varjak wrote:There is a problem accessing the secure pages of the 18866 website if you are using an older operating system (like what my local library uses). On the other hand, the problem made me download Firefox (which, with Win98SE enables me to access my 18866 account securely) and, being still on dialup, 18866 really did me a favour!30 years, 217 days!0
