Cheapest 02 PAYG Tariff
What's the most economic 02 PAYG tariff please, based on very low usage (2 or 3 brief calls per week, no more than 1 hour per month)? I'm currently on Talkalot, and the phone is a back up (essentially I need an O2 phone in order to do my quarterly £10 top up to get the £5pm broadband discount), so I'm rarely spending more than £10 a quarter. Thanks.
No free lunch, and no free laptop

They dont have a low/lite user payg tariff as such . After you have used up any inclusive minutes you might get.,they charge everybody the same.

Text and Call will give 25 inclusive minutes every month you need to top up,or if you make E&W calls you could go for Talkalotmore and get 50 minutes of inclusive calls every month you need to top up,and on either you could use your built up credit in the other months.0 -
Thanks, what's proving uneconomic is the 25p per min for the first 3 mins (then it drops to 5p for the rest of that day). So all my brief intermittent calls are getting charged at 25p per min. It appears there is no way out of that on 02 PAYG.
Most of my calls are peak rate not off peak, so TalkALotMore is probably not suitable.
I'd be on ASDA at 8p per min, but as mentioned earlier I need the 02 phone to get the broadband discount. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
I find o2 tariff very expenisve. I get 50 free airtime when I top up by £10 each month. If I go over, crossing net work is 40p a min & tyhe £10 credit just disappear. Am thinking of going with Asda but do not want the hassle of asking for a PAC.0

Phone them and ask about the O2 basic tariff. https://www.o2.co.uk/o2basic
Normally its by invitation only, but if you were to ask you never know! Especially if a PAC was called for.0 -
giffgaff may suit your needs.they run on the o2 network but call & text charges are half the price of o2.0

Thanks, but I need an 02 tariff in order to get the broadband discount. I will investigate 02 Basic. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

I hardly use my mobile and top up my o2 payg for the sake of o2 BB discount.... with friends & relative overseas I choose YOURCOUNTRY to get 50mins free international call after topping up0
