Would you pay £64 for extra 2 year warranty on £1300 laptop?

    John Lewis or Costco give you a two year warranty. £64 isn't expensive, but the other way of looking at it is that you will most likely replace the machine at three years old, so is it worth a gamble that you might have to replace a machine a few months early should it go wrong during the third year. That's the approach I would take.

    On the other hand, if Sony's warranty is half as good as Apple's then take it! Applecare costs a lot more then £64 but I would dream of being without it.
