    Thanks hon,

I am beyond anger, I just feel really depressed & demotivated. There's a lot going on at work & I'm not the only one feeling angry & demotivated in general. We all try so hard to move the business on, but Gropey is a complete control freak & cannot bear for anyone else to have good ideas or run projects perfectly, without interfering. I would so love to be able to just keep him away for 6 months & show him that he's got a fantastic team of people working there who could do so much for the business if they were 'allowed'.

Cant ring in, will probably end up telling Boss to stick his job & that's not what I need to say. Need to calm down first. A lot.

I've just dropped DD at school & am about to work all the finances out. I'm hoping that I have enough in the savings fund account to cover everything. I've put the washing machine on & will have a thorough clean & tidy to keep me busy.

Oh Lula! Thats really dreadful, as Shoe Gal says, its a non-negotiable. When are your outgoings due out? Have you worked out if you've got enough to cover it? You're right about sticking with home-job for now, when stuff like this happens. Sounds like a bad atmosphere there right now, it really does. I see you're doing a clean and tidy thing in the house right now? Probably just as well, it might work off some of the adrenalin. I'm so glad you've got a little bit of a fallback, you're doing brilliantly to have constructed that while still paying off excess over the minimum debt repayments.

:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: to not getting paid, if someone didn't pay a bill they would charge interest I bet you don't get interest on your non payment of your salary (and yes will they pay if you go overdrawn or can't pay a bill so get charges?)

I cannot believe what has happened today.

Not long after my last post I received a text from Cockney Rebel to say everyone was steaming as wages not gone in but he reckoned Goblin was going to do direct payments. I decide to wait half an hour & then checked bank again. Yep, wages had gone in so I grabbed my bag & headed off - albeit half an hour late.

On the way I ran into a queue behind an accident. People were just trying to squeeze past but I decided to stop & ask if anyone was hurt & see if I could do anything. Nice guy who was working on gas mains said no one was hurt but that one of the drivers - a young lad - was a bit shaken up & when I offered to help out he said that he'd look after him until his dad turned up.

Realising I was now seriously late without an explanation I texted Gropey to say I'd be there shortly. I realised that office had called while I was driving but didnt bother to call back as I fully intended to explain events to Gropey when I arrived. He was talking when I got there so I just briefly said hello & went straight in to the office.

Goblin looked up & said "what's up with you then ". I said hello & explained that I had had a bit of a wages issue but it was all fine now. Without giving me a chance to continue that I now had my wages or that Id got stuck behind an accident she just launched inot a full scale verbal assault on me .

Started shouting that I had such an attitude & that wages were due to go in any time up to 5pm ... I tried to explain that I didnt have an attitude & if she would just let me finish then she would understand, but she didnt stop, just got louder & louder & more strident & I said " hang on, dont yell at me, you said yesterday that you were concerned about wages & if you'd just listen I said it was all ok & I have my wages ".

She was just off one some manic irrational vibe & in the end I thought I was either going to start screeching back ( very undignified) or really lose my temper so I just stood up again & said " I dont have to put up with you shouting at me" ... to which she yelled " Well pi$$ off then"

I just grabbed my bag & left , pausing by Gropey to say that I wasnt going to be shouted at or told to Pi$$ Off.

I was so incensed that I dont even remember driving home. How fu**ing dare she

I had a coffee & broke out the emergency chocolate bar & then the reality sank in. I could be in serious trouble & needed to make my case pretty damn quickly. I hung the washing out & made sure I was calm & rational first.

So I emailed Gropey, apologising for being late in the first place & then leaving again about 3 minutes after I'd arrived :o. I explained about the wages & shuffling accounts, the accident which held me up even more & yes, I did say that whilst I realised my walking out was very unprofessional, I also felt that to be shouted at by a colleague in such an abusive & aggressive manner was also very unprofessional. I realised that Goblin was a valued member of staff but didnt feel that should excuse her conduct. I reminded him that this was not the first time she had lost it & yelled at someone ( Cockney Rebel a few weeks back) & that I had felt it better to leave & let the situation calm down rather than get into a full scale row. It just isnt in my nature to take such an abusive onslaught without having a reaction.

I enjoyed working there & believed that in general I get on well with everyone, so I would stay home for now & come back in on monday once the dust had settled. If he wished to speak to me before then, he could call me.

It's really horrible & I now feel all shaky & unsettled, but I really cant take that sort of attack & just shrug it off.

I'm not a moody person, I try to be nice to everyone ( ok, on here I b!itch about everyone who has riled me - but that outlet enables me to be nice in person) & I just dont feel that I deserved to be shouted at in that way. I really think that she has anger management issues, rather than me; although I do concede that the whole wages issue meant I was a bit less easygoing than usual.

I really did try to explain that I didnt have a problem & there was no need for her to jump on the defensive & start yelling at me, but she was out of control & in the end I really couldnt see a way of resolving it. I just couldnt have spent the rest of the day there, feeling so upset after such an onslaught. I'm starting to cry just while typing this.

She has gone way beyond reasonable behaviour & needs to be told that you just cant speak to people like that. Annoyingly, I cant now access my emails to see if he has replied ( thanks virgin )

It has completely taken the shine off what would have been a great day for me; I just dont feel the sense of achievement I should, so not going to make that final payment today. It's ruined my moment & I hate her, horrible old cow :(.

Wow! Lula-Hula! Frankly under the circs I would be inclined to put a formal complaint in, you didn't intend being late, you tried to explain and were bullied into fleeing the workplace!

OMG, that is so awful and I'm outraged on your behalf.

This company is so terrible at salary paying. It should be a rare rare event that they mess up your salary, but I'm sure that you've had problems with this at least 4 times before??? Shocking.

I think I can honestly say I've had wage issues maybe two or three times my whole working life which is nearly 20 yrs.

I think you've done the right thing about work. It isn't right to be shouted at in such an agressive fashion.

(and it might be worth keeping in reserve that fact that you had had to come to the aid of people in an accident and this was very shocking to you - even if there were no injuries it was clearly very stressful for all involved and the anticipation of something awful happening is often worse than the reality)

And I would totally second The Dragons wise advice.

I presume this outburst was in front of others or at least audible by others? This is really out of order and this is totally unacceptable.

I hope your weekend works out better than today!!!
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)
  • Lula that is awful.

How unkind and frankly insane. Mind you she always seems a bit odd from your descriptions. If it helps I would have done exactly the same thing! Being shouted at at work is simply not right. Professional behaviour only thanks!

Hope you have had a reply and it gets sorted.

    Hugs
    Nevertheless she persisted.

Makeup - thanks for your support & words of wisdom.

Yes, this was in fact the 4th time my wages were late ( in just 18 months).

It was just myself & Goblin in the office although I do think her volume might well have been heard out in the production area. It's funny because I've been dreading Grumpy being off & did previously mention to the guys upstairs that I reckoned she would give me a hard time when it was just the 3 of us in the main office. The way she was so quick to ignite was surreal, in spite of my reassurances that I wasnt having a go at her nor did I have a problem.

I'm cross with myself because I reckon that she'd duped me again; she's been fine & jovial for a couple of weeks & it almost feels as though she was building up to this present drama.

I did explain the whole situation in my email to Gropey & if he chooses to take that as a formal complaint that's fine. I doubt it as he's very non confrontational & lets the Poisonous Evil Goblin do pretty much as she pleases. She just puts herself forward for every task & tells anyone who'll listen that she's prepared to work longer hours & do whatever it takes to get new computer system running / buy the cheapest supplies delay paying them & contractors as long as possible etc etc etc. It's a miracle she hasnt been offered up on a martyrs pyre.

Anyway, I'm going to look around for other work & just carry on as normally as I possibly can. I really dont want to go in on monday but need an income & am in no way going to make her day/month/year by leaving :p. She can be as poisonous as she likes; I'll get in that protective bubble that Hypno recommends (:T) & just turn up, do my job, go home & ignore her all day unless necessary to communicate for work purposes. They'll have to sack me if they want me out, at which point I'll get legal.

Have been churned up all day so not got much done other than hoovering the living room & the washing.

Tomorrow is my new beginning & I've chosen to end this whole nasty affair.
