Yep, once that credibility goes, its gone
That brought back *so* many memories, Lula ... arguing at college about who was more working class
I still think I won that one, as my dad worked in a factory and the girl arguing with me had a dad who was a bank manager :rotfl:
Go for the camper van!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I too had times like that nearly 30 years ago ..it's amazing how things change over the years.
glad you managed to get your much deserved lie in.0 -
So lovely to see you posting again Taxi :j
RosaBernicia - I would rather go without a fridge & cooker than a washing machine, it truly is the most labour saving device ever. Please do be careful about carrying fuel in your car though, I have a feeling it's not legal as could be potentially disastrous
Karma - I've been on ebay again looking at boats & campers. I love the old vw's but still have shower & loo 'issues'. Do hope that by the time I actually have the squids to buy one, I will have resolved my issues.
We've had a lovely day today. Did a bit of food shopping, did some cooking & baking & also watched Gentlemen Prefer Blondes on tv. I love that era of movies, the outfits, the way people were witty rather than rude & wow did the women 'wiggle'. DD was most impressed & had me in fits of laughter by trying to recreate one :rotfl:.
:rotfl:
KC - I searched those freezer cabinets at waitrose for bags of veg at £1.29, in this area the cheapest was £1.49 ... still a fair bit cheaper than the organic stuff I've been buying at £2.39 a bag. I've also discovered a way to get DD to eat broccoli ... give her cauliflower as well & she'll barter to eat the green stuff rather than the cauli. Whatever it takes
.
I noticed many price increases & spent ages trying to choose between 2 varieties of mince. It was either the organic 5% fat stuff in full packaging, or an extra 50g of 10% fat non organic in simple reduced packaging for £1.50 less. In the end I opted for the better value one on the grounds that HRH Duchy man doesnt need my cash as much as I do
Thankfully good teabag were on offer for the large size box so they will last us for a while. With good quality stuff if I make the tea, I dunk it in my cup first & then in DDs :shhh: - it's not good for her to have it too strong is how I see it.
I chose the biggest block of cheese I could find at £5.69 but that with what we already have should last us until payday.
The only naughty thing I bought was a bag of humbugs - I simply cannot drive to & from work without one & have mastered the art of making it last the whole journey. No, calories consumed in the car do not count.
In spite of being really strict about sticking to the list the bill was still £30.39 which has slashed my budget in half.
Next stop the pet store where I spent £13.98 on food for the Beast of the Badlands.
I now have £36 & a whole heap of determined optimism left.
I've spent some of my personal spends gift money - Body Shop half price sale is not to be ignored. Spent £15 & qualified for free delivery, then for some unknown reason it was reduced at checkout to £13.50 & quidco cashback to follow
I've also just made another payment of £125 to Uncle Richard.
Total now outstanding = £ 2750.0 -
Good for you on keeping on at the debt busting...and determined optimism will get you far lady X'The road to a friends house is never long'0

Tell! I would certainly want a loo *inside* the camper, of some description.

My sister's husband worked for Waitrose - she knows what goes on behind the scenes, and she never bothers to buy organic from Waitrose, its completely trustworthy - and having seen the fruit orchards in August, after The Rave, I understand her thinking.

Uh, I'd never buy Duchy products on principlesorry.

Of course! I never use a teabag once only, I don't take it that strong all day.
The only naughty thing I bought was a bag of humbugs - I simply cannot drive to & from work without one & have mastered the art of making it last the whole journey. No, calories consumed in the car do not count.
We can let you off that one, I think :rotfl:

Yay! Good for you!

Bargainous! Well done you - I have loads of gifts *to* me from the Body Shop, so I don't need anything right now, but its not to be sneezed at.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Aaaaaaggggggghhhh  Lorraine Pascale has an easy baking series on tv I can feel my backside expanding as I watch. Need to get her book.
Had to watch eastenders & laughed; as when they say the bit at the end about anyone being affected or concerned by issues raised re the baby swap plot, DD snorted that she was far more affected & concerned by that dodgy guy getting jiggy with both the young chavvy girl & her grandmother :rotfl:
Another NSD here apart from having to pay a £6 'voluntary' contribution for a workshop at school. But as it came out of the fund, it's not really a spend
Gropey still hasnt spoken to me :j so i guess he really does blame me for his cold. He seems perfectly fine execept for when anyone bothered to ask at which point he would look all pathetic & say that he was 'struggling'. Ridiculous man.
I'm all behind tonight as we had a very late start. Was up too late last night, slept through the alarm & didnt wake up until ten to eight . Amazingly I just managed to get to work within 5 minutes of my normal time.
Grumpy said he liked my 'just fallen out of bed hair' look ... I chose not to enlighten him of its authenticity.
I am now off to do a workout, cant nag Shoe Gal unless I do mine first0 -
I watched that baking programme, she was *good*! Love the fallen out of bed thing, by the way
good for you for getting in
2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Owwww I am hurting.
It's entirely self inflicted though so I just have to suck it up - this is the consequence of not doing the weights workout for about 3 weeks until tonight
I am now declaring that tomorrow will be a No Exercise Day. Well, certainly not of the high energy/muscle useage variety anyway.
It is working though, having overslept yesterday I didnt have time to weigh in so did it this morning instead & I have lost 2lbs :j. I still have another 2 to lose before resuming the original pre festive feasting loss, but at least I now feel as though i do have some control over my body ... I have been seriously doubting it during the last year or 2.
:j:j
I have been spurred on somewhat by the arrival of a slimming club leaflet. Some cheeky mare who has children at the nearby school has decided to use the route to the school to drop off her leaflets. I'm sure she has leafleted the entire road, but it does feel a bit personal :rotfl:.
I'll show her, & without having to spend £6 a week too
Feeling a bit feisty today; the Goblin has returned to previous power-crazed status. I'm being b!tchy now, but really, for someone who is about 4ft nothing, I cant see why she cant manage to find a pair of jumper-matching trousers (coral today) that at least cover her ankle socks. It's just not a good look with trainers.
I helped her on monday after she made a huge cok up which could have led to undercharging a client by thousands of squids, & today she's reverted to being all bossy & pulling rank again, & actually reminded me that she is the office manager & was over ruling Gropey's instructions to me about doing a task a certain way.
She also told me that she's going to see Hairspray with some friends ( I was surprised) & I said we were thinking of going too & when I asked here for recommendations of seats & which day she was going she went all fake vague & mentioned a date when it's not vene on & was clearly making it up as she thought I would want to go with her & sit near her :rotfl: Silly woman, I wanted to be sure we wouldnt be there at the same time. Puts me right off going at all.
Would love to drop her in the !!!!!! re her cok up but cant as my new vibe is to be nice. Dammit - ridiculous Goblin
Ommmmmmm .... it's been a NSD0 -
All that griping about colleagues has been repaid with a sickening pain in my knee when I sit down ( it's not very painful, but does make me feel icky ) & wow do my thighs feel like I did a weights workout yesterday.
Serves me right for being nasty, I must remember that she does have to put up with Gropey's tantrums due to her postition whereas I can usually avoid & ignore him.
Yet again it has been a NSD & it should be another tomorrow. The fuel gauge is approaching the quarter mark but I cant top it up on my way home tomorrow as I need to sign DD up to after school clubs. I've had a bit of a result there as she doesnt want to do any of the ones that require fees. I do need to pay subs for her guide club on friday but the remainder of the cash in her clubs fund, I will transfer directly over to the PGL school trip fund. The sooner that is paid off the better, as it's only just occurred to me that she is going to need lots of clothes for this trip.
Home-job work is dwindling weekly & I'm ashamed to say that I'm rather relieved. I do still need it until DF, but as that day edges closer, I'm finding it hard to stop myself from doing post DFD budgets & forecasts to see if I can afford to quit the home-job. At the very least I will cut down to only 2 days a week. Still detemined to keep my fridays to myself.
Feeling a bit green now so going to head off to bed, will report funds news tomorrow.0 -
Sorry it feels like Instant Karma got you - I'm not surprised you felt like griping tho!
You're doing really well on the exercise and the dfw, and of course you want to give up the home job, thats only natural. You want to, you know, have a life! It will be lovely to have a life ... I'm just starting to practise my trading again, finding I have to write down the sums I need to do at the moment:eek: thats my home job, of course, but my RL job only has a tiny number of hours per week.
Hope its going okay for you today.
