Car was Petrol Bombed - Anywhere for financial help.

My mums car was petrol bombed early friday morning (we live in a loverly area ha ha).
It was a 1993 Saab and is totally recked. Were looking at a new car and the insurance was third party but my mum now loses 5 years no claims. Obviously you never come out great when stuff like this happens, but she will also have to pay the insurance till Feb as well as the new batch when she does replace the car (my grandma is buying).
My question is, is there anywhere for any kind of financial support? I know the Motor Insrance Beureu will help victims of uninsured/untraced drivers but doesn't say anything about this.
Any advice appreciated

She shouldn't lose the whole 5 years, it should go back to 2 or 3 years ncd.
Is it possible to transfer the insurance to the new car, some policies may allow this, some don't.
If not at least it's only 1/3 of the year, she's be gutted if it had jut been taken out.
Don't accept the first offer, argue, even if it's for a few quid, it's worth it.0 -
Is it actually worth claiming? You need to give that some thought.0

A 1993 Saab isn't worth claiming - I'd write it off OP0

Well, thats what mum was thinking. Depending on how much they are going to offer. Although considering it's still outside the house we would also need to think about the cost of getting it moved. (no idea how much that would be)I get what i want. That isn't because i'm a brat or spoilt. It's because i'm determined, i work hard for it and i achieve my goals!0 -

I wouldn't claim on the insurance and simply call your local breakers yard who will offer you something like £30-£50 for it cash.
Failing which the Council may take it for free, depending where you are.0 -
A scrap place will come and take it away and give you money for it.I wouldn't claim on the insurance and simply call your local breakers yard who will offer you something like £30-£50 for it cash.

I think you may be underestimating whats left of the car. It was on fire for a good 20 mins.I get what i want. That isn't because i'm a brat or spoilt. It's because i'm determined, i work hard for it and i achieve my goals!0 -
