Afternoon All,
My last post before Christmas so I'll make it a nice festive one. Moyra's pre-Christmas gift of my new desk mug has already been taken care of. My pre-Christmas gifts to her were, not at all unsurprisingly, based around her favourite collectibles. On "Christmas Tree Day" - December 1st, she got these:
Then, with 12 days to go, these came out
but her favourite was our summer gift from her auntie who got this as a thank you for taking her to Vegas:
Merry Christmas!
Cheers,

Hi Billy,
We have our btl insurance with endsleigh (www.endsleigh.co.uk) 3 bed house with seperate garage in Livingston. Buildings, home emergency expenses, contents damage option (fully furnished property) £370 a year. This also covers none payment of rent by tenants and investigation. Have heard of another house in Livingston another repo will do some more investigation about it first.
Have a fab Christmas

Billy, Billy, wherefor art thou Billy?
Hi Billy, hope you and Moyra had a great Christmas and New Year?
I've just been catching up on your thread, there was so much to catch-up on that I'd be here all day to comment on it all so I will cut to the chase with a very big WELL DONE YOU!
As ever I'm in awe of your energy and dedication and just know you will be very successful. Have you given any thought to the new businesses potentially becoming your full time job in the future and you leaving your current position?
BTW, I saw Waugh recommending BTL insurance so thought I'd mention the one I use. I ony do contents through them as I have the buildings one through a complicated service charge agreement that I have no power over. The one I use is UK Insurance Net or ukinsurancenet.com. I must admit I've thankfully never had to claim on it so can't comment on that aspect of their service but I've always been very happy with their admin/renewals etc. I've stuck with them for 5 years now despite shopping around each year.
The other thing I was going to mention was a weekly email reminder thingy I get. I've never actively bought any of the products the site/service offer but the site does offer lots of good research material and astute financial and tax considerations when it comes to BTL so I thought I'd let you know and you could have a look, as I say, I just have the weekly alerts/updates sent through. The site is

Perhaps the atrocious weather hit them and they're still without power? Waughc is fairly close, maybe they know something?
Hope you and Moyra are ok Billy.
All the best,

Evening All,
Happy New Year to one, all and anyone who considers themselves sufficiently outwith the earthly strata to deserve a seperate mention. Hoping for a wildly successful 2012 for everyone of us like minded souls in Planet MSE.
Let me begin by explaining my ridiculous absence. As much fun as I'm having with the estimates proffered (and some aren't far off the mark!), my holiday period has been realxing and unproductive in equal measure due to the loss of my laptop. Even now, I've got an average of half a dozen sexy popups a day trying to break my computer. What was properly disconcerting was that I lost very nearly everything on the laptop. Thankfully, one of the lovely techies at work recovered everything and I was back in the game as of Wednesday. Relying on the phone and the iPad is alright for a bit but the lack of excel was as keenly felt as losing a limb. Anyone who thinks we're not beholden to technology is dreaming!
Let me, in order, crack on with the following:
1. Reply to the good people of the Wynnvegas II diary
2. Update the readership on the trials, tribulations, excesses and efforts of the last couple of weeks
3. Catch up on the good diaries of MSE
Cheers,
