    Morning Tilly,

I was certainly feeling it last night! I'm not a great believer in getting stressed about things but I've definitely recognised some changes in the last few weeks so we'll take some of these things a bit slower. I think I had convinced myself that, as the majority of the management of the doohnibor (that's properly taken now!) project is outsourced and the funding / advisory involvement I would have with Colin's business is relatively hands off as well then both could truck along relatively nicely without m doing too much. I still expect that to be the case to some extent but I'm starting to appreciate the demands of each and that's before the employability thing gets off the ground where I expect the most significant involvement from me. I've always liked the idea of a group of businesses and I can well see probably a dozen opportunities down the line. We'll take things nice and slowly though. This week will be focused on the doohnibor project and we'll plan heavily into the Home Improvement business next week.

The £58,000 offer was refused which is fair enough - I wouldn't sell an £80,000 house for £58,000 so it's a bit unfair to expect anyone else to. I may have stretched a wee bit further if the house had been more local than it is but I'm not overly concerned at missing out. There will doubtless be others that come our way (two yesterday) so we move on. I've got a sneaking suspicion the Shotts one may come back yet though but only time will tell on that one.

    Cheers,

    Billy

    Evening All,

The question of the day is "how do you value a business?" - there are plenty of ways it would appear but trying to sort out the value of potential and reputation is causing us some issues as placing a value on the intangible is just about as hard as I imagined it to be - any tips?

Not a lot of news today other than the good news that we've got two potential tenants for our first property. Peroperty 1 is looking like the best of the lot thus far - little work required, excellent condition and easily lettable - the holy trinity of Doohnibor Ltd!!

Off to Birmingham tomorrow for a couple of days. Hopefully a lot of business planning and time at the gym. This last week has really annoyed me as I feel as though I must have stuck on about 6 pounds. On that note, off to see if I can make it 2 in a row against Moyra at badminton...

Hope everyone is having a grand evening.

    Cheers,

    Billy

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

    Evening All,

Forgot to mention my moneysaving win today! Called Sky to explain to them that Moyra was struggling to find a new job since her redundancy a few months ago (when, incidentally, does a white lie grow into something more sinister?). Not only did the girl give us 9 months of half price sky, free internet and free phone line rental, she also turned recruitment advisor and advised Moyra to look at the new Primark store for a job. lovely girl but, ingrate that she is, Moyra promptly turned her nose up at the prospect...some of these unemployables are just too picky for my liking....

    Cheers,

    Billy

  • Wow...I'm off the radar for a couple of weeks and your btl idea has exploded into an all conquoring Empire!

I agree that you need to slow down a bit...stress has this habit of creeping up on you and before you know it its got you and you have difficulty in doing things effectively.

    Take time out and chill...

Hi Billy, just a short post as I'm doing this from my phone n it's a bit tricksy. Just popped on for the first time in well over a week. I can see you have been full of busy so I'll post more when I get on a proper keyboard.

Anyway, I couldn't resist saying that I'm posting this from Birmingham and was laughing at the thought that for all I know we are in same hotel. If I hear a 'neighbour' on the phone saying doohnibor and 'buy, buy, buy' I'll just take it that you are right next door :rotfl:

Ps, glad you liked my nac mac feegles on Froggys thread, their creator gives them amazing attributes which I'm sure you would approve of :D

    Hi misscousinitt,

I've hardly lifted a finger outside work in the last few days so I've not had time to think about the extracurricular stuff which has been strangely relaxing. Empire building is the very plan although there will doubtless be a few bumps along the way (so far, it's the myriad of legal bills involved in setting up a few mortgages - not all of which had been built into the plan!). Having a reasonably relaxing weekend!

    Cheers,

    Billy
