    Morning All,

That's one thing off the list at least - MBNA have confirmed the payment to the acquired debt card so we're down to the last £4,500 before debt freedom! We'll knock off as much of that as we can manage at the end of August and clear the lot in September. No more acquired debt ever again - we've learned that lesson for sure. Thankfully, Moyra's mum and dad are on a much better footing now and they're upping their monthly repayments to £200 a month so just the 69 months of repayments to go...

We're off to look at a new car for Moyra today. Vauxhall are doing a few good deals and she seems pretty set on a Corsa. We'll start looking today but we'll probably not buy a car until the middle of next year as her wee "Ted" apparently has another year in him yet. Do all women name their cars? I'll take her out for some lunch afterwards...so off I go.

    Cheers,

    Billy

Where's my invite for lunch??:o Am I not as good looking as Moyra?? Is that the reason??

BOA (Bank of America) is stopping MBNA (Chester office to close soon) so they can focus interest in B2B (more profitable to them apparently).. So with a bit of luck your debt might be written off or sold to another credit card provider before you pay it off..

    Awasile Froggy,

One of many reasons - beauty, lack of a dodgy accent, no overwhelming stench of garlic and blue cheese, no prospect of the "riot gene" kicking in and you trashing the place. I'll make sure I don't forget the invite next time...

So if I write a really crawly letter to Bank of America saying how much I love them, their country, their dull as dishwater adverts and all things yankee, they might just forgive the debt? Surely can't hurt to have a go... As long as they don't make me register and jumpt through a million security hoops, they can feel free to do what they like with it for the next....ready for it....46 days. Feels good to have a countdown again!

    Cheers,

    Billy

    Morning All,

Glad it's Friday. A busy day ahead but then a relatively subdued week planned next week at work. My review is the big piece that's currently in the offing so I'll schedule that with the Chairman and tell Billy's story of 2010/11. I'm planning a year of big changes in our place so I need to get him to sign off on those first and foremost. As bosses go, this one is the best by a country mile so I don't see any issues arising. It's difficult to know exactly what to look for in the reviews now. We don't particularly need more money (although it's never a bad idea I suppose) and I could do with a few more holidays seeing as we're planning on upping the holiday count to a minimum of two next year. I'll do the same as last year and see what he decides to offer. Last year came with a 10% bump which would be nice to repeat.

Some progress on the big house! We've been pointed to a couple of sites that we're going to see on Sunday morning. I don't think either is big enough if I'm being honest but it won't hurt to check them out. Having seen a few big houses already, we're becoming more and more set on getting ourselves a couple of acres so as to give us more options. The architects we're working with have mooted the idea of a 2.5 storey big house which is very interesting. Might need to get back on my happy Home3D App to see what I can dream up to stick in the third floor of the house...all suggestions gratefully accepted - a 20-seat cinema is my current thought...

Some additional progress on the big house! In the midst of writing this, I've just had another email from the architect who has gotten us a couple of sites to look at over the next few days. One is potentially for sale from a builder who has done a lot of the legwork for what was going to be his house. He's now found a better plot to build his house so has expressed an interest in selling his first site to an interested party. If this one looks like it could be a winner, we might get on the case that bit quicker which would mean throwing everything up in the air!

Moyra, having seen the new Corsa (they really are horrible wee things), was adamant that she now deserved a brand new car having been so patient whilst we've paid off the mortgage and the acquired debt. The corsa is coming in at just under £10k fully laden with all the gubbins that a Corsa can have but she's since been on Autotrader and seen a few nearly new cars at about £8k. This, I've been informed, is her new sacrifice campaign for the big house.

    Cheers,

    Billy

Good news on the plot search progress.. have you managed to modify the 3D version yet? Can we have a look?

The cinema room sounds great, however I would have gone for the basement on that one (due to light & sound proofing).. Why not a library with views across your land?

Concerning Moyra's car.. Could you not offload your company car to her, and you buy a decent car for yourself?

  • Hi Billy
I have named my car so another vote for the "all women name thier cars" brigade!!
when does moyra get her new one? :rotfl:
House plans look to be going well - liking the idea of the cinema room, think mrtyo would like a similar room (must be a boy thing! ;) ) if you bought the plot when could you/would you plan on starting all the building? (just getting some tips for when we are in a position to start our own "grand design" !)

    Mwidiwe Froggy,

I'll see if it's able to be exported. More work to be done it it today. Sticking a library up the top wouldn't be a bad shout at all. Maybe have a lounge type thing up top to make best use of the views.

Moyra prefers wee cars so that's unlikely to be an option - shame as I wouldn't say no to something a bit better. My thing is nearly two years old now so time for a change!!

    Cheers,

    Billy

    Hiya Gally,

She's in full agreement. It's a properly hard life for some of us!
