Has anyone else had a bad experience with M&S Technology guarantees?

I had reason to contact M&S Technology service about a pair of damaged Sony 3D glasses recently and was surprised to discover that my guarantee is operated by Homeserve ! I have been told by M&S that it was their business decision to appoint Homeserve to operate certain parts of their business on their behalf but they do not inform their customers of this fact

Homeserve have refused to replace the glasses and I have been advised by M&S to seek legal advice . Very concerned now about the usefulness of the remainder of my guarantee especially the 5 years for the Sony TV I bought last year.

As will be seen on another forum, Homeserve do not inspire much confidence in their customer service and I certainly wouldn`t have bought any M&S technology products if I had known then what I know now.

well the crux is,how did they get damaged?
