Powerflush with Homeserve

Hi Guys,

I have been asked by homeserve to get a powerflush done and am being quoted £484 for the job & including 8 radiators. This price is valid if I go for a key cover policy which they are offering which covers any lost keys including car keys else the price they quote is £504. Is this reasonable.

I have also heard about something called magnaflush, which they didnt mention to me at all. Is it worthwhile asking them for this. Is there any other place/website I can get this done cheaper.

Thanks

  • Just got another quote from http://www.expertpowerflush.co.uk/ and they quoted me £450 for the job but no magnaclean although they are offering magnaboost for an additional £180.

Use an local independent recommended RGI (who is GSR) and you'll probably pay half that.
But best of all not to touch Homeserve, put the money in a savings account and use a good local RGI should you need a call out.

  • Macman,

thanks a lot for the advice, I tried a local retailer and he says that 80% of the time a powerflush is not required. He has quoted me £75 + VAT for the labour and will come and have a look at it tomorrow.
