Hi folks, On Friday my Firefox stopped working - or rather what happened was I couldn't open it from the desktop icon. Prior to that it had been fine. I had updated a plug in (QuickTime) and read somewhere that it can cause problems. So I uninstalled it along with Firefox. I then re installed Firefox (I did this about 5 times!!) and it still won't open:( I have installed Chrome and that works fine, but I like Firefox and had it how I wanted it with add ons etc. My technical know how is non existent, so keep it simple - please Cheers:)

  • Its most likely a profile problem as firefox doesn't removes user profiles on uninstall so it may still be there.

Follow the instructions here http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/profiles to locate your profile and try either deleting the folder inside the profile directory which will lose all settings or move it to another location i.e. your desktop/another folder if you want to save your settings for later use. When you run firefox again it should hopefully run and create a new profile.
