Hi WTB,

Did you use any special program to remove AVG or did you just use the control panel ? If you didn't you can get the AVG removal tool from here http://www.avg.com/download-tools

This should get rid of any left over AVG bits & give you something to do whilst you're waiting for the proper techies to come to your rescue

Put the memory stick back in

Copy the contents to your hardrive

Format the memory stick (Make SURE you have the contents on your hardive first and theyre fine)

Scan the memory stick and the newly copied contents with AVG and malwarebytes (Right click on them to bring up the option)

Post here if anything was found and all details about it

TICK and FIX these in hijack -

It is possible your email account has been hijacked so its upto you how you wish to proceed with that

Download and run the FREE version of DR WEB

Turn your anti virus OFF
Click CANCEL to its first question (Unless your happy to lock windows until its run)
Click NO to opening the purchase page
Click START
click YES
It will auto QUICK scan
Pess the STOP button on the right (Unless your happy to quick scan first)
After that set to COMPLETE SCAN the computer and press the 'play' icon
This will more than likely take hours (12 is average!), so leave running overnight or whatever

***DO NOT UPGRADE TO FULL VERSION***

reset the HOSTS file if it asks you

did scans and deleted the ones you asked me to do.

They both came back clear.

With regard to the email, is this referring to what i asked you in a pm

I was going to tell you not to worry about the email

But the hijack scan suggests your email 'may' have been compromised

Sign up for a new gmail account

also sorry, do you think my email address was compromised after i put the log up or before.

Before you put up the log

Your best bet would be manually send from your new gmail account to each of them
