Why did you call a plumber? A plumber is not in any way qualified to work on gas appliances. You need a central heating enginer who is Gas Safe registered. Did you check that your 'plumber' was a qualified RGI and competent to work on your boiler?
If you paid £258 for 65 mins without any new parts, then I'm afraid you have been massively ripped off with an hourly rate of £238! Why did you not challenge this charge and ask him to justify it? Have you got a proper receipt for the work done? Where did you find this plumber?

CORGI is now obsolete as far as gas is concerned, RGI's must be Gas Safe Registered.

Sounds a complete rip off at that price.

I charge £60 + VAT for the first hour, but I realise other parts of the country can be different.

What make and model boiler do you have and what is the problem, exactly.
  • Hi i have a potterton Suprima, I have a green light flashing and the red light is off, I have pressedd reset but the same thing happens. There is no flame at all and it isn't igniting.

It isn't circulating the water, flashing green light means the water is up to the temperature set on the boiler and it's waiting for it to cool down before it refires. If the ch pump is running you have an airlock or lack of water in the system, if it's not running you have a faulty pump or circuit board.
