Oh dear, why is it these things always happen at the most inconvenient times? Well I guess a silver lining (was struggling to find one) is that at least it's before the VAT rise in Jan - now that would be annoying for the machine to go on 1st Jan!
Well, I have cakes - home made...by Mr S :rotfl:for our street gathering this evening. Really wasn't sure what to take so I thought that some mini fairy cakes and choc cornflake cakes would be ok (though the choc cornflake ones might not make it). Also managed to get some fireworks after a bit of a panic, Tesco seemed to have some left but they were all jumbled up and looked really expensive (£40 - seriously? I mean, that is LITERALLY sending money up in smoke) Mr S didn't have any either (not even a loan sparkler) so I drove to a little corner store where the guy tried to sell me a £150 box for £90 as a 'bargain for a lovely lady' .... I explained that was a tad over my budget and he started pulling some other sitcks of what looked like Acme TNT out of the cabinet - they looked a little large to say the lease (NASA looking for any lost rockets atm?) and as he was serving some other customers I read the small print - they were Professional Dispaly fireworks where people had to be a min 25metres away :eek::eek: I thought it was illegal to sell these to the public and if it isn't it bl**dy well should be - I honestly think that those things could kill, or at least do someone serious harm in the wrong hands.
So....after that, I though I'd check out H*mebase (being part of Mr S) as a last resort and BINGO! a nice small family selection box for £9.99 with a BOGOF offer so I got a pack of rockets for free and bought 2 packs of sparklers too. I expect everyone will be bringing the same ones :rotfl::rotfl: but glad we won't be rolling up empty handed.
So, no NSD for me, had better get back on the NSD wagon tomorrow me thinks xFeb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Hello everyone!
Woo hoo! Yesterday was NSD number 6 for me and my 6th NSD in a row!!! :j This mini-competition is definitely helping me clock up more NSDs! On the down side, in order to clock up my 6 NSDs in a row, I've waited until today (weekly food shop day) to make all my other lil necessary purchases that I would have done during the week, so today has been very big spend day
Have a good rest of the weekend everyone and good luck collecting more NSDs next week!:money: Proud to [STRIKE]be dealing with[/STRIKE] have dealt with my debts! :money:

Is it safe to assume that Thursday wasn't an NSD then?
Think it must be as you've been so quiet since then, which means
This is for you

Today my purse stayed at home - so NSD 4 for moi please0

NSD #4 for me today - didn't even go out for the milk I'd put money aside for after having to tip the last of the 'fresh' this morning 'cos it had turned overnight
. but it was dated 1st Nov
Managed to find a few small cartons (like from hotel bedrooms) of UHT skimmed knocking around, but even those are getting dodgy (if I don't shake them first I can get half out OK which is enough for me in a brew). Not sure what to do about picking milk up though, as I'm currently using pouring yoghurt on my cereal so won't get through a 4pt container - but a 2pt at Mr M is almost as expensive as a 4pt at A!di. And I don't have freezer space to buy a 4pt and freeze some. I have some soya milk in (long life), but it's sweetened which I like on cereal and I don't like sugar/sweeteners in tea.Cheryl0 -

Not a NSD today as there was a new Primark opened fairly near me during the week so toddled off for a look.
Not as busy as I thought it would be so that was good and I dident spend much at all so all good.
Debenhams was the pits though & if I hadent had the £5 off voucher I would have toddled off.
M& S's cafe was very busy and had a que for nearly 20 mins so was becoming a grumpy beanie.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters.
