Christmas Gifts For A 8 Month Old Baby

My new neice will be spoilt by her parents and both sets of grand parents this Christmas, (its their first child / grandchild).

So i was wondering what to get her that isnt expensive and would be appricated? Ive already ordered a freebie earlier this week thanks to MSE which was a medical record folder for babies and I have £10 of adams coupons thanks to nectar. I would like to put maybe a stocking together or get one more item for her....any ideas?

Many thanks
Pixie

my fav present was a 12 hole photo frame, looks like a tree with 12 branches on them and you can put in a photo for the baby's 1st year month by month, it was not expensive, just looks great.
Babies love jingly jangly hand rattle or brightly coloured toys around their cot/push-chair.
What about a wooly hat with their name on?

  • How about one of those material advent calenders with 24 little pockets that can be used for years to come :)
  • I've just bought my grandaughter who will be 4 months at Christmas a Whoozit baby photo album, its a little soft book with a handle and has inserts for you to put photographs in. My niece had one and spent hours looking at it and the photo's can be changed around whenever you want. I bought mine new on ebay which is much cheaper than other places. Paid about £8.50 but prices vary.

  • where was the medical record folder? i missed that one. We got loads off stuff for xmas, and the girls were only born in nov so we still had loads of stuff from then. alot of people gave us money to go towards premium bonds. we didn't get anything with babys first xmas on though, but we'd bought some tree decs but would have liked more, like a plate or photo frame or something to bring out every year.

hi, it was my sons first christmas last year, and one of the most thoughtful presents that he got was one of those double apature frames from woolies (fairly cheap - about £5) and had "jacks first christmas" etched on the bottom. Its lovely and its on the wall in his room.

what about making her a stocking she can use for years. My mum made me and each of my sisters one the years we were born - i still use mine 25 years later!

what she did was use an old white pillow case, cut out my name in red felt, sew them on and added a green felt christmas tree. Nothing fancy, but it wouldn't be christmas without out it!!!

Our stockings aren't filled with presents from santa, rather all our presents go in the pillowcase. it keeps the place neat and helps you check you have opened them all! but also it kept each of us from fighting over whose presents were whose when we were younger.

i know she probally hasnt got her first tooth yet let alone thought about loosing one but how about a tooth fairy bag? ive got a little bag i cross stitched it was supposed to hold pot pourri but id just finished it as eldest DD lost her first tooth so she put her tooth in that for the fairy to collect and its use stuck-all 5 of my kids have used the tooth bag.
You could make a little bag and embroider or applique a fairy design on it and it could be used for years to come.
its been in use for about 18 years now and youngest DS still has some milk teeth so its not retired yet!

I have a 3 month old & am hoping people buy clothes for my little one. They grow out of things so fast and there are only so may toys they can play with! Both Asda & Tesco have such nice things at really reasonable prices.

Either that or things to keep with 'Baby's First Christmas' on such as tree baubles, which will come out year after year.

My cousin and best friend will both have babies almost 6 months at Christmas. i am planning to make use of Adams 3 for 2 and get them 2 outfits each. What I plan - as my friend has said this is a great help - is to get the SAMe item in 2 ages (age 3-6 months, and 6-9 months) for each so they will have an outfit they like that fits the baby for longer than a couple of months.
