    1. Environment and general waste.
    2. I live away from my primary address quite a lot, so have to have them forwarded on to me. Much easier just to get them online.

When you travel or live away from your 'home' address then you need to be able to have them online only option. The last thing you want is someone stealing the statements.

Even if you dont live alone. Then you cant rely on the other people knowing that a card statement is expected. So they dont know if something has gone wrong.

Next minute someone id theft. Often its the worst time when you find out.

Also online statements saves the hassel of shreding the old statements.

It takes seconds to pop the statements through a shredder.

That depends on how many credit cards / bank accounts.

HBOS has sucked since Lloyds took over.

You can't lower credit limits online. They've removed the option to 'Add/Remove additional card holders' - I was wanting to remove one of mines but can't and not going to waste money calling them.

I think you'll find they'd be in a lot worse position if Lloyds TSB hadn't taken them over - and I'm also sure Lloyds TSB are cursing the day Gordon Brown loosend the competition rules to enable the takeover.

Lloyds TSB was a very stable institution before they had the shotgun wedding with HBOS

Yes, this seems a pretty bad deal to me. I also note you will not be able to make online payments to your credit card via your debit card, which is the way I always make payments.

And of course online statements are better than paper - or at least, of course it's better to have the option. That's why every other financial institution I deal with has been trying to persuade me to turn off paper statements for at least the last couple of years.

How is one supposed to have an affair if the wife can read the statements.

Although not advertised yet/ communicated, BOS have got the new online banking demo when you click on their current online banking demo link. So presume they shall be launching around the same time as halifax, but seems halifax have already started to communicate the changes with their customers. http://www.onlinebankingdemo.co.uk/launchbos.html?!!!!!HOME4 Exactly the same as the halifax one as predicted just different branding.

Seems like i spoke too soon. Just had an email their from BOS about the changes ;)

HBOS are also removing the option to pay your credit card bill via World Pay. It seems they are removing just about everything relating to online banking...

I was actually aggeratived that Halifax didn't do paperless billing for my credit card. I'm no eco nut, but I find it a lot more convenient.

I can't really believe in this day and age a company wouldn't offer this service. Every other company I use which have billing aspects offer the service.

I personally can't stand having a load of paperwork around. A couple of months ago it took my about 20 hours over 3 or 4 days, to go through and sort out many years worth of paperwork.
