Hi,
I am about to get a Cashback contract on Mobiles.co.uk, but am curious about one thing.
For a 24 month contract, it says send in the bill 6, 9, 12, 15, 18 months after connection.
a. So Mobiles.co.uk will have actually fully refunded the cost of my line rental by say the 20th month (18th bill + say 30 days to receive the cheque) is that right?
b. What measures do they have in place to actually prevent me from suddenly deciding to end the contract after, say, the 21st month (since I already received the full cashback....)
Thanks!

a) If those are the conditions of the cashback you are right.
b) If you cancelled early you would have to pay up your contract with the network for the full 24 months, so you would be no better off, but lost your service early.0 -

Points like these are best not put on public display; I have been aware of this for ages but sometimes it works to OUR advantage not to draw attention to it.0 -

After your final claim, month 18, you can downgrade/upgrade your tariff - but if you decide to cancel the contract, retailer cares not - its the network who will apply early termination fee. So if its something like 21 or even 23 months free, you do get the extra bit of cashback but its wasted on paying off the network. Question is - do you take the risk of paying high tariff for a not so new phone and hoping to make all cashback claims on time and then terminate the contract on time after month 18.
And its worth noting they have some blurb on their site
Cashback will not be paid if- You do not complete the minimum term (12, 18 or 24 months) of your contract.
