Chocolate and more chocolate - if anyone reading this knows me, please take note, as it needs to take me through to easter.

For older people (my gran is 90), the things that make life easier, that it would never occur to them to buy themselves - back scratcher, jar opener, long handled gardening tools, magnifying glass.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Wilkinson had some really great Born to Shop handbag organisers for £2.

Have an address book, diary and notebook with pencil all together. Look much more pricey than £2!

But I love the Born to Shop range so Im biased!

  • I realise Lakeland Limited is normally quite expensive, but in the bargain section of my local store, I got a lilac faux suede pen holder (95p) and mail organiser (£1.49).

I only do stocking for the children, but have found Poundstretcher/Instore brilliant for christmassy bits (last year they had bags of choc coins with tiny soft toys in - those little bears were very popular and are still living in various pockets now).

Just within budget - Woolworths have a selection of childrens torches half price at £4.99 - Thomas, Spiderman, Dora and others - they're small torches (2AAs), and project an image when switched on.

Ebay is great for small toys, especially if you're doing several similar stockings - look under party bags or stocking fillers.

  • I bought the children some of those character straws from Adams for £2 each...Dora, Thomas, Disney princess, and more were in there. Kids up to about age 10 all seem to love them. I also got the 10 and under crowd a some little card games.....Old maid, Uno, Hearts, etc

Girls 10 and under and boys up to about 6 all seem to love sidewalk chalk too..you can get a huge pack for £1 and divvy it between 4 children as there are often 4 of each colour. Mine loved it last year and are still drawing pavements pictures with the stuff!

hair clips and grips, fancy hair slides and alice bands
    handmade jewellry

Also got a dinner set from Asda.....value white one for £4.95. The children are decorating it up with porcelain pens for the grandparents

Grown up stocking stuffers....getting gifts that give from oxfam unwrapped

Last year they kept saying how nice it was to get something so meaningful without it being yet more stuff to clutter up or be a repeat pressie.
