How is someone posting their own ( misguided perhaps ) experience a spammer?

"Spam is flooding the Internet with many copies of the same message, in an attempt to force the message on people who would not otherwise choose to receive it. Most spam is commercial advertising, often for dubious products, get-rich-quick schemes, or quasi-legal services."

Whilst I agree, the person is very probably not spamming, I think Pincher is alluding to what appears to be a concerted campaign, in this forum, by first time posters extolling the virtues of electric heating.
  • I have portable oil radiators in my house instead of using the gas heating..... I'm finding it much cheaper to use these than switching the gas heating on , it costs me less than a pound a day to heat a three bed terraced house. The trick is too leave them on a lower setting for longer , so when i get home from work the house is cosy and warm without having to turn them up, this is where they can become costly.

Oil-filled radiators with thermostat can indeed be efficient, but it depends on the quality of isolation. Thanks the thermostat id doesn't need to run non stop.
On places with worse isolation radiant heat would be a better choice than a convection heater (infrared heater aimed at people - but beware the distance).
Since insulation in my flat isn't the best I use a heater which combines both radiant and convection heating with thermostat. It is a micathermic heater from Bionaire. ( electric-heaters-review.com/bionaire-bh3950-micathermic-element-console-heater-review )
