Some reassurance please

Mother has just got a parking ticket from private company. She finds it too strange that this is a scam and that the ticket cannot be enforced as she was not the driver.

Just so she can be assured and does not pay this fine that is not hers to pay acn somebody on here give us some reassurance.

I dont think she trusts her son!

    Hi jgallcash.

What is the name of the company?

As a general rule, any Private Parking 'invoice' cannot be enforced by any means and is not enforceable, therefore it would be safe for your Mother to ignore the 'invoice'.

I call it a invoice as it is not a ticket, because a ticket is only what Police, Council can issue you with, not a Private car park.

Once ignored, the Private parking company will request your mothers details from the DVLA, whom will send a number of threatening letters - advise her to simply ignore them.

In a nutshell, these are scams and should be ignored at all times!

Here are all the threads on the board. You'll see the advice is IGNORE the fake ticket:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...play.php?f=163

Read lots of info, don't even THINK about paying it.

Do ask your mother to read at least the sticky threads on that link, and to watch the Watchdog youtube video linked in one of the top threads. She should also learn about the letter-chain she will have to ignore (shown in pics in the sticky thread 'PPC letters/scams, what to expect').

I have been in her shoes and it's really not difficult to ignore this scam once you've read a load of other threads like yours and realised it really is sound advice. Happy reading! :D
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • LDK securities ltd based in Milton Keynes apparently.

I am absolutely aware that this is a scam but I wanted some independent confirmation to settle my mums nerves.

I often laugh these things off but it makes you realise how much stress and worry these scammers cause when it happens to your family.

I'm sure she will recieve a few letters in the coming months and hopefully I can ensure she doesnt break and pay up as I live 250 miles away.

    Thanks for responses

Demanding money from someone when you have no basis to do so is fraud. Report it.

Also she has no legal obligation to say who was driving, they can't take her to court unless they know 100% who the driver was, the registered keeper is often not the person driving.

Tell her to relax and to watch the watchdog videos of this, she will soon realise its a scam .
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?
